Season's Hostel & Guest House

I was a little worried once i'd booked to stay here having read some bad reviews. However, once the initial shock of the basement looking like a building site (Madeiran builders work very hard, so I imagine it will be finished very soon...i'm writing this on 22/4/17) my opinion changed very quickly. Sure it has some downsides....the shared toilet doesn't have a lock, neither does the shower and the rooms could do with individual lockers, however, it was clean and very well positioned in central Funchal and once you get to know the basic layout of the City, this Hostel becomes incredibly convenient with 2 decent supermarkets within 200 yds walk. It's also roughly the same distance to the Aerobus stop. The rooms are shared (4 to a room) but what do you expect for the money? I paid 10.5 Euros a night and that included breakfast (continental....bread, ham, cheese, cereal, cakes, coffee, tea and fruit). Anyway, no complaints at all for the price, although I kinda missed having my own room, so maybe next time i'll not be so stingy.
