Hostel Casa do Arco

We arrived late friday evening to Obidos after driving from Lisbon in a rented car. We had not planned this part of our trip and was a bit worried beacuse accomodation was hard to find. And even harder to pay (Obidos hotels seems to be very expensive). After asking a bit around we were directed to the "flower shop" (Yes - the hotel is in combination with a cute little flower-shop). We were greeted by a lovely lady, who ran the hostel and also the flower-shop. She did not speak a word of english, but was very understandable anyways. She seemed to always be smiling and just enjoying herself in the shop creating a wonderful atmosphere. We had a good breakfast (included in the price) with bread, cheese, milk, cereal, diffrent jams and coffe. It is not a luxury hotel, so don't expect it to be, but the atmosphere and romantic flower-setting is worth a million. It is a hostel, so be prepared to sleep in bunk-beds. All in all a lifesaver and one of the best places we slept in portugal.
