Old School Guest House

Would absolutely recommend this to any one coming through Lagos - with the caveat that if they're in the middle of a heatwave you might want to look for somewhere with AC. We had a great experience staying here though - Marco (the owner) met us in his restaurant (which is immediately below the guest house) and gave us the full run of the place - including a ton of beach gear and 2 bikes that he said we were free to use (and we did!). The apartment is very centrally located, right in the thick of the Lagos - we had read warnings about the noise level (and Marco himself also mentioned this) but we didn't appreciate anything out of the ordinary. The interior is quite nice, very comfortable and modern looking with an up-to-date, fully stocked kitchen that helped us prepare a picnic. One of the big perks is the included breakfast - basically a free meal at Marco's restaurant downstairs, which was by far the best option during any of our stops in Portugal (and on Sunday, when the restaurant was closed, Marco dropped off a ton of baked goods, yogurt and juice before we had even gotten up for the day). As noted above though, we came right in the middle of a heat wave, and while the central room has an A/C unit our bedroom did not - and the puny fan was not enough to overcome the extreme heat. To be fair though, it was record-breaking hot while we were there so didn't want to ding them for such an anomalous event. Other than that, would absolutely recommend!
