The good: resort is very tropical, nice environment, hot water in the bathroom

The bad: out of the way, almost an hour from the main siquijor port, road construction causing loud noise, resort was empty (no other guests), had an extra person which we are more than willing to pay a reasonable amount for, but was charged almost half a room rate for him to sleep on the floor, when asking the manager (owners wife) she was very rude and defensive about it. Basically felt like she charged us way more than reasonable because I’m a foreigner. Also Wi-Fi is almost unusable and there is very little cell reception.

Overall I would not recommend for any foreigner as they will try and take you for as much money as they can.

We (a small group of four people) had booked the resort for a short island stop and were absolutely enthusiastic about the unique flair and the dedicated host team around Marcel, who made the stay a really special stop! Thank you for the good time with you, we hope to come again:)

It's a very beautiful, secluded, authentic place) with a view of the ocean, I really liked everything) I recommend it to everyone! 6 bungalows in the jungle) quiet, staff friendly and cook delicious) but the main thing is it's a very beautiful and quiet place

It's a magically beautiful place.

My wife and I visited Kalachuchi  in March with our little dog . The resort was perfect for us as we like isolation and to get away from the crowds . The owner Marcel is a gem and looks after his guests as do the staff . Attention to detail is everywhere . We and some other guests nearly got stuck on the island because of the Covid 19 Virus lockdown , Marcel could not have done anymore than he did to help us all and keep us informed of the situation and was graceful enough to return money for our room as we had top cut short our break . I look forward to visiting again to have an uninterrupted break in this fantastic resort .

The pictures really do reflect how good this place is. Excellent helpful staff and service, great rooms, great food (the signature mango curry is excellent and there is a good range of options to choose from at great prices), table tennis, pool, trampoline, outdoor chess, and a really nice pool. This is a place to relax and get away from it all during the time when not exploring the many waterfalls and beaches on the island (the beach off the resort is not great).
Rent a scooter (350php per day) and drive to all the places on the island, you are probably talking a max of 45 minutes to everything dependent on how you drive (watch out for the dogs and chickens!)

As previous people have said it is on the other side to all the restaurants and bars therefore you can either scooter (this is pretty hairy at night due to random animals in the road) or get a trike (500 php one way), again it takes about 45 minutes. However if you are looking to go out every night to eat and hit the bars, rather than enjoy the food and relax at the resort this is not the place for you.

Amazing place to stay if you are looking to get away from it all and relax.

What a hotel! we went to two friends in one of the bungalows of this hotel and we had a wonderful stay! we already had the hotel for all of us alone, the pool and all the staff with little care for us! the hotel is beautiful, the spacious pool and you can go from the sea to the pool in 10 seconds so both are close! the restaurant is very good and cheap and we even enjoyed pool and chess games of some size! in short you won't have time to relax! although the weather wasn't always very good during our stay we were delighted! the manager is super nice and won't hesitate to give you advice for your stay! the bungalows are very nice and we're not going to be too busy! we're not going to look for a nice place to stay! we're not going back to a nice place if we're not looking for a nice place to stay! we're not going back to a nice place to live! we're not going back to a nice place to live! we're not going back to a nice place to live!

I was staying in a different area of the island and was traveling around by scooter checking resorts. They received me warmly even if I was just there for lunch, and for a very small and insignificant fee, let me enjoy their pool and waterfront. Kalachuchi's dining area and swimming pool is even more attractive in person than in the internet! The pasta's portion was generous and well-prepared; I would have returned again if only I stayed more days in Siquijor.

Day Visit

Since friends of us have been before to Siquijor and had mixed experiences with their hotels, we invested a lot of time for research and decided to give Kalachuchi Resort a try. 
It was one of our best decisions in the Philippines. The small resort is well-maintained and the staff is lovely. They helped us to organize scooter (for a reasonable price) and take care for any additional wishes. The cottages are beautiful and with bed up- and downstairs usable for families. Additionally the cottages are very well isolated - so you the air inside is perfect. 
The restaurant offers a good breakfast and dinner for reasonable prices. Only disadvantage is they don‘t accept any credit cards so you must have enough cash at the checkout. 


Perfect place for Siquijor

It's a wonderful place to relax and relax for a few days. It looks even better than in the pictures, which is rare in Southeast Asia. It's a bit remote from everything else (we also looked for it), but the island is small and you can go anywhere in less than an hour on a motorcycle. The staff is very friendly and helpful. For example, Marcel loaned us sandals (which you should wear on the beach because of the sea shark). Then you can walk comfortably in the sea and find some stars, of course you can also swim further out. We extended our stay and had a wonderful week there. :)

A Paradise in the Paradise of the Philippines

We stayed with Marcel and his crew as a couple for six nights. The whole resort is very well maintained. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Marcel is a cool host. At 7.30 in the morning, coffee is brought to the bungalow, which we really enjoyed! A place to relax and feel good. We would always book here!
