We are currently staying at Gems hotel as we have family in Antipolo. This hotel looks rather old and run down with only the basic amenities. Average size room, king size bed, fridge, aircon, and hot water. All staff are helpful and reception staff were quick on check in. The gardens around the hotel look nice and are maintained well. There is an average sized swimming pool which also looks ok.  For the price per night I think this hotel is fair. But nothing special.

One of the decent hotel that i can find here for few nights stay. Abit hard to spot at first since the hotel is not visible from the main road, but with google map you shud be able to find this place.

they offer few nice rooms with 12hrs and 24hrs rate that is quite reasonable but not that cheap. They even serve your breakfast in the room (certain room only i think) and its quite convenient. But I hate how they wake u up. 

Room is old but still okay, atleast its clean and the mattress is still in good shape.

Overall good hotel to spent a night to sleep. Also recommended for family stay since the room are big and comes with 2 queen beds.

Business trip

My wedding was held in this hotel and I can say that I had a good deal with them. The staff are really nice and very approachable. I have trusted them with the food to serve and everything went well. They are very easy to talk to and eventually we had a good room to stay. The hotel is under renovation when we held our wedding and has the potential to be one of the best hotel in Antipolo. When you enter  the lobby, you will see that the hotel has been there for a long time and the renovation is really needed. I haven't visited it yet after the renovation and hopefully the small rooms and  parking are already fixed.

Under Renovation, Good People - for December 17, 2015

I was booked by the client in this hotel for a business trip.  The hotel is clean, odor-free and their towels are white.  The bed is comfortable but the bed sheet is rough.  The size of the room where I stayed (Room 17) is just right for two twin beds.  There are adequate number of plugs for charging laptops and gadgets.  The aircon is working and the temperature can be kept right. First major fail: there is no Wi-Fi.  I find that really strange because it is 2018 (not 1980) and Antipolo is only 30 minutes away from Metro Manila. Worse, the hotel room does not have a phone or an intercom to call front desk.  Upon check in they issue you a calling card with 2 cellphone numbers you can call.  But most of the time these numbers just keep ringing.  You need to go outside and walk to the first building where the front desk is to ask for anything.  Second major fail:  they will not clean your room unless you surrender your keys to the front desk when you leave for the day, and they don't even tell you that policy upon check in.  This is the only hotel I know that does not clean rooms everyday (nor replenish amenities like toilet paper and bottled water) unless you explicitly ask.  So the breakfast plates I left in the morning were still there when I arrived in the afternoon.  Third major fail: the shower area doesn't have a drain.  The water is suppose to free flow on the floor from the shower area to the lavatory area and then to the toilet area to find its way to the drainage system.   So after you take a bath you have to walk on wet floor to do anything else in the bathroom. The is a safety issue here. I don't think there was an architect who thought of the layout of this toilet. Sad! Third major fail: the front door is poorly fitted on the door frame such there is a gap around the door.  On the first night there were some men drinking in front of Hotel Room #16 (Rooms 16 and 17 is on the ground level leading to the basketball court/parking lot) I had to put up with the noisy discussion of drunken men until 12 midnight.  There was no security guard in the hotel grounds to regulate noise level.  Fourth major fail: On my second morning I requested by text (because no one was picking us the phone) that my breakfast be brought to my room at 6:30am as I was checking out at 7:30am.  I had to follow up 3 times before breakfast came at 7:20am. I never want to go back to that hotel again!

Feels like a hotel in a remote province in the Philippines

one of the worst hotels ive seen in manila and ive been to sogo. its off the main road its hard to see cause the front is all under construction. Once i got past this eyesore the gardens and building looked quite nice. The reception was useful and spoke great english, I choose the turquoise room which was a mistake for $2450 peso. Its right next to the pool which dosnt seem to close as yelling and screaming when on all time till early hours of the morning. As you can see from my photos are the room is very outdated and the furniture very old.   Tv is from the 90's same as the cabinets. The is cable tv with limited channels as for the WiFi its there but hardly works. the best seemed fine and clear from appearance. mainly power sockets around for your charging. The shower is shocking no towels, very little toilet paper, no bin and the shower was so moldy. The fridge is there but not connected , nothing is supplied but a toothbrush, soap, shampoo and slippers. The breakfast is no option just just come in morning and drop it off, Cheese hot dogs, rice and coffee. Overall for the price i have seen better and recommend to avoid unless you really need the location,

Flashback to the 80's

An absolute nightmare of a hotel. Nothing seems to work in this very old rundown hotel. When I checked into my room, the WIFI, TV and water heater was not working. I insisted on them giving me another room since I paid for a 3-night stay, which was extremely costly. After a while, I was given another room. Since it was late, I checked the heater and wifi and both were working. I slept and woke the next morning. 

To my horror, the air-con was not working. I was happy that the room was cool but did not realise that after a while, the rom was hot and stuffy and a bad smell came out. I insisted in changing into another room. I was finally given another room. the aircon was working, the wifi was working and the tv was working. However, the water from the tap trickled. I was tired of complaining and decided to check out of the hotel as i had enough of this bad hotel. It was a terrible experience and I will NEVER recommend anyone to stay here. The hotel is old and needs major repairs. The swimming pool, not to mention, was dirty and unused. I took a dip and saw that the pool was dirty and had lumps of dirt, not sure what they were, and I left.

The rooms that i was given was poorly ventilated too.
