El Chielo Hotel

Located close to the airport and port jetty. The rooms are very small and basic but well equipped with a/c and tv. The WiFi is hit and miss. No hot water but not a problem as the water is not that cold. The rooms in the back are quieter. Our room was clean and seemed to be recently renovated.
The staff were friendly and helpful but or online reservation was lost so recommend not booking ahead. Walk-ins get a much better rate here.

Good for Making an Early Morning Flight

This is a house that they transform so travelers can stay for few hours to catch a morning flight.

Current Condition old aircon it's already malfunctioning the buttons won't work 
The CR door is very rusty.

The location is very near the jetty port.

Php800 good for 2 or 3 if you are willing to squeeze in.

Hotel or more like a pension house

For a temporary lodging its fair for the price. Good small room with aircon. 
Everything is accessible around coz outside its a market place. 

No hot and cold shower only...

Fair For the Price

this would have to be one of the worst accommodation experiences ive had.
You had to fight your way through a second hand (dirty smelling) clothes shop to get to reception. The  staff were completely unwelcoming. The rooms were disgusting. The slider door on my room was very difficult to slide open and closed, and the door had no lock or anyway to even close it properly, the room was very cramped, the bed uncomfortable and musty and sheets were old and stained, the room was musty. the bathroom was dirty and smelled bad. The price for this room was way over the top, one night in this hole was twice the price of one night in a upmarket beach front unit at Boracay, it was a total rip off. There was a sign on the door advertising the rooms at a fraction of the price booking.com stated. When we questioned the staff they ignored us and walked off.. The area seemed dirty and dodgy and there was nothing close by available where you could get a meal. Once there, it was obvious there were a lot of better options of places to stay, even closer to the airport.

overpriced, dirty, unwelcoming

My friend and I (two 25 year old females) had a terrible experience with this hotel. We arrived at around 11pm as our flight was leaving at 7am from Caticlan airport the next day. We had pre-paid and pre-booked this hotel via agoda that morning and were shocked to find that the staff didn't want to hear a thing about our booking, simply stating that "the rooms are full". They initially refused to let us in through the front gate but at our persistence they let us in. 

It became clear that they had given our room away, but there was no apology or explanation. Three men just stood and stared at us and seemed to us rather threatening. This hotel room cost us the equivalent of £22, of which we received no refund. 

Eventually they found us a place to stay not in the hotel, but in a dark alleyway in a tiny unsecured room with terrible facilities, which we had to pay for. None of us slept because we so worried for our safety. Do not stay here, get the night boat from Borocay instead to avoid this area at night time.
