I stayed here for a few weeks and absolutely felt like I was in paradise. I had previously stayed at other popular hostels however none of them compared to the comfortability, cleanliness, and peace and quite for wonderful evenings and sleep like Palosanto. I highly recommend this hostel to any tourists coming towards Mancora who are looking for A1 treatment and a very relaxing at home atmosphere. The amenities and ambiance is top notch and I would give more stars, though Im limited to five.

The location of Palosanto is perfect, right at the Main Street. The rooms and ensure bathrooms are spacious and clean and the beds are very comfy. Great vibe! The strawberry daiquiris are the bomb! Definitely recommend staying here!

perfect to stay in mancora, not the party hostel so you can sleep at night, the bar and pool is really cool and for party you can always go to loki, it's 2 min. away from the hostel, also very very cool staff :)

Great stay!

Palosanto doesn't make it clear on their Hostelworld/Tripadvisor pages, but their aspiration is to be a party hostel, which wasn't what me and my girlfriend were looking for. That said, if we were looking for a party hostel, this wouldn't be what we're looking for either as the atmosphere wasn't great either.

We booked a private room with an ensuite and were put in the room next to the bar. There is no glass on the windows and the curtains flap about so we had to tape them to the wall for privacy. There is absolutely nothing to stop the noise from the bar. I can understand this, but when I asked the staff about moving rooms on the first night as we couldn't sleep they shrugged and carried on smoking. One of them then told me 'be thankful you're not staying at the Loki, because it'd be worse there'. I was less annoyed about the noise than the staff's attitude.

For the rest of our three nights in Palosanto we got a weird standoff-ish vibe from the staff, so just generally felt a bit unwelcome. That said - the mattress was great, and you get a decent breakfast.

If you want to party, stay at Loki/Wild Rover. If you want to get a reasonable nights sleep, don't stay here.
