Casa Hostal Rojas

We were traveling as a group of 6 adults. Four of us stayed in the upstairs room, with a balcony overlooking Calle Plateros. The balcony was a great plus! We were able to sit on the steps and just watch the goings on for hours. This room comfortably fit four adults, with plenty of room to spread out. The bathroom was spacious and updated. The room downstairs not as big, but with only two adults and three twin beds, they were able to spread out just fine. The downstairs room is next to some sort of bar/discotec. The guests staying downstairs did not get much sleep. The music was heard all night long. The buffet breakfast is every morning, over at the Hotel Rojas Inn, which is just 30 seconds up the street. This is where you check in an get your room keys. The two ladies manning the buffet, worked very hard at keeping it replenished. The coffee here was excellent and the fresh juices were exceptional! Great buffet! Sergio, at the Hostal, was an excellent host. We dropped our laundry off with him and by 7 pm each night, it was ready for us. (There is a fee for the laundry service, per kilo) If we were every to return to Cusco, we would definitely stay here again. Location is a great plus! · I stayed in the upstairs room, and every mattress up there was VERY firm. Not sure about the mattresses in the downstairs room. A couple of time, there was no water at all in the bathroom. We would go tell Sergio, and he would flip some switch, and the water would start running again. The hot water in the upstairs room was very temperamental. It took a long time for the hot water to start flowing, and then, if you were lucky, you had hot water throughout your shower. If you were not so lucky, you finished your shower in cold water. We made do with it, but not exactly sure what was causing it. The downstairs room shower, was pretty much cold for the entire stay. I would recommend you get some sort of receipt when you check in. We checked in at Hotel Rojas Inn on October 10th and paid for both rooms, in full, up front. Half of our group was leaving after three days, and the remaining was staying through the 15th, leaving out at 5:30 am. As we are in the taxi about to head to the airport, the desk manager from Hotel Rojas Inn comes running out and says we need to pay before we leave. Thankfully, one of our group speaks Spanish and was able to tell him that we had paid in full, upon check-in. So be careful, and ask for a receipt of payment
