Frøyas Hus

It's very small but cute. It's old but rustic. It's quite special but truly authentic. For those who love this kind of atmosphere, with homemade food & cakes, definitely go there ! For those who are looking after confort, space and giant breakfast buffet, do not. I've read that some people were really disappointed about this place but I found it as I expected, e.g. absolutely charming. So read carefully where you are going to in order to avoid disappointment (and complaining). The host was quite welcoming and she offered us to split (we were 4 big adults) because one of the rooms was extremely small. She said that it would rather fit 2 adults and 2 kids. The bathroom was very small as well but again, this is a typical old-fashioned Norwegian house so do not expect the confort of some more modern B&B. Some people complained also about the breakfast. I mean this is a bit too picky. You get what you need, both sweet & salt. The host offered homemade bread with ham and cheese, as well as homemade marmelade and müsli. She is busy preparing cakes for the coffee shop so she won't have time to answer all your desires. If you want eggs, bacon, pancakes etc., you rather have to go to an hotell. But remember that you won't pay the same price either (this is Norway!). As for me I've got my dose of exotisme and I would come back but maybe not in winter (old Norwegian houses are badly isolated).
