Pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming friendliness and helpfulness of the OnSite Staff!  We arrived hours late due to a late train, and were met by a young Swede working the front desk who was concerned, helpful and went way out of his way to help and make us welcome.  He even commandeered a hotel-owned van to drive us from check-in desk to our room.  The apartment was beautiful - easily the best night's sleep we had on our whole trip.  The entire family wishes we had planned to stay longer.
Be aware that check-in for Geilo Gaarden is at the Ustedalen Hotel.  That fact was clearly outlined in my arrival instructions, but I missed that detail until our arrival.  It did not cause any problem, it was just unexpected.

Six of us stayed here last week. We were on ground level, number 37. 3 bed - 2 rooms had 2 x twin beds, the third room had a bunk with a double on the base. The apartment was very spacious with a great open plan kitchen /living/ dining area. There was also a great hall area with a facility to hang up coats/ski wear. The bathroom was spacious with a superb shower and a sauna too (we didn't use). My only issue was the heat!!!!! We all woke up it was so hot... the apartment has a very effective underfloor heating system. We same in the connected hotel's pool, it's small but it was nice to have a dip. We are/had drinks one night in the neighbouring Geilo Hotel which was pleasant (1 min walk). Otherwise the village is a 10 minute walk. For skiers, the lift is just 5 mins away so it's a good location! Also be aware there's no wifi in the apartments. Overall I would recommend! 

Bright, fresh well-located apartment near the centre of Geilo. Walking distance to the Geiloheisen lift and almost skiable back to the apartment if there is a lot of snow. We were in apartment 33 in the basement. It had 4 bedrooms (2 small twin rooms and two bunk rooms with a single bed on top and queen size underneath), 2 bathrooms with shower and a good size open plan living room and kitchen. 
Kitchen was adequately equipped (lots of plates, cups and glasses, good selection of pans, rubbish knives - as always seems to be the case in self-catering apartments. 
Overall cleanliness was good but there were some things that suggested it hadn't been fully cleaned between guests (crumbs on the kitchen top, chewing gum stuck around the place, very dusty under and behind the beds etc). It is a requirement that guests either pay an additional cleaning charge or clean the apartment before they leave - I hope that the hotel are then cleaning again properly afterwards - if nothing else because there are insufficient materials to do a full clean. 

What you need to know when making a booking:
- the hotel that Geilo Gaarden is linked to, is around 500m away up the hill 
- bear this in mind if you man to use the (small) swimming pool or other facilities
- THERE IS NO WIFI IN THE APARTMENTS - Ustedalen management, if you are reading this, this is the one factor that would dramatically improve your trip advisor ratings - international guests in particular want to avoid being charged for mobile data just to check their email!!

Lovely apartment. These apartments are privately owned and ours was very well appointed. The management is located in the nearby hotel. We were allowed to use the pool in that hotel as well.  there was no wifi available at the apartment.

Fantastic On Site Staff, Beautiful Apartment

Let down by lack of wifi - I would have given it 3.5 if halves were an option

Nice place to stay

I made a 60€ non-refundable booking, The I realised they'll charge 500Nok or about 50€ cleaning fee per stay. So in this case an economical one night room became expensive.
Being frustrated I went elsewhere. Now some weeks later they are debiting my credit card 111€ for this 60€ room + cleaning the unused room.
The information about this add-on fee was on small print and almost impossible to see when booking. It is there if you are really really careful.
I've been promised a 50€ refundfor excess billing, but in my humble opinion this is not the way to run a hotel and deal with customers. Maybe we foreigners are just stupid gullible tourists?
I'd go elsewhere if I were You..
Ps. The keys are not in the house, and the distance is longish if you are not with a car.

Beware or the expensive cleaning fee. Keys are not in the house.

Booked at Booking.com. Appartment 3. Pictures on website not equal with quality Appartment. After late arrival, reception in other hotel to catch the key at 22:30 p.m. Searching where the Appartment was. Took us almost an hour late in the evening. Apartment 3 is old, TV unclear if it works, no information in the room. No WiFi. Paying 180 EUR for one night, is shameful for this apartment 3. After a nice day, this was a big disappointment.
