These are the nicest rooms that I have seen in Las Penitas and they have AC!  The owners and staff are super friendly.  Coffee is good and they have a functioning espresso machine.  Also the best WiFi I was able to find.

We decided to spend a couple of days of Holy Week here in Playa Las Peñitas; we stayed at this hotel and it was definitely the best decision we could make.The hotel is small, new rooms, clean and well located, but definitely the best thing about the hotel is the attention of its owners, always kind and willing to help you with anything needed to complete the holidays.They have three dogs and two cats, which for me is a plus... recommended..!

The front of the hotel is painted in orange and yellow and is picturesque. This hotel is very friendly 2 steps from the beach, facing the lagoon where a few boats are docked. The entrance is directly to the restaurant without reception. In front of the ground floor room, 2 rocking-chair and a round table to relax. The room is a little dark despite the window. The walls are of red bricks. A screen separates the bathroom from the room (slightly disturbing). 1 large table, 1 chair, no storage in the pantry, a bed that is rather warm. A.C. Mojito is on top. The breakfast is good and varied (traditional omelettes, vegetarian tops, but the restaurant is very nice and very nice, but we have a very good cup of fried chicken and cream. The restaurant is very nice with a nice cup of fried chicken, but we have a very nice cup of fried chicken and cream.

How to Live

My partner and I came to stay here when protests started in Nicaragua and we needed to extend our stay in Las Penitas. We were extremely lucky to get a room here which we upgraded to include air-con - so needed in April in this town. The Wi-Fi was excellent, allowing me a stable connection to contact my family and download some films. The shower had good pressure. it would be good if a basic screen could be provided to cover the toilet area as it lacks any privacy. There was a socket by the bed and door. Plus a lamp next to the bed. Good quality towels provided. A hammock and rocking chairs on the pitch for relaxing. Laundry could be done on-site. Located right next to the bus stop. A simple, tasty breakfast of a small bowl of fruit, fresh bread with jam and eggs provided along with good quality coffee or tea if you prefer. The owners are Canadian and hire local staff to cook and clean. They are easy to chat to and helpful when asked rather than intrusive. They did us free tea at night time - much appreciated. They provide free water refills also by asking at the bar. They were extraordinarily helpful in gaining information on the situation in Nicaragua in order that we could choose how to proceed with our travel plans. We cannot thank them enough for their advice and patience whilst We weighed up our options. We also had the pizza for dinner, which was very tasty (garlic shrimp and smoked fish).

Great hosts and good facilities

Whether it's the owners or the employees, you're going to have the warmest room, the rooms are very nice and impeccable, everything is quiet and perfect.

It was a great place to stay and we loved it! It was a nice place to stay! It was a nice place to stay, Chris and Jen are great hosts!! It was beatiful, calm, great big room with private bathroom with hot water and AC. Beautiful place and stay nice, I will definitely return there!!

Beautiful room and place!

The host was very nice and helpful. The view during the breakfast (homemade bread!) was amazing. We did not like the toilet opened on the room. Very well located in the fishermen' place in Las Peñitas.

Dulce Mareas is like home away from home. The staff and owners are all very attentive and friendly. I would recommend this Hotelito to anyone who likes good food and a friendly atmosphere. They make an amazing brownie sunday and the best Bloody Caesars are made by Jen. Chris does amazing smoked fish and always sources the freshest ingredients. The rooms are beautiful and clean and have the option for A/C. Ive stayed at a lot of places and I've never written a review. I've finally found a place that inspired me to take a moment and let everyone know that if you visit Las Penitas check out Dulce Mareas because you will not be disappointed.

My fourth trip to Las Peñitas , my first stay here. A class act all the way. Very communicative, friendly, helpful owner and staff. Super nice, well appointed rooms with optional A/C in a tranquil courtyard. You are literally a few steps from the beach/bay. 
The food here is quite good. Pizza that would rival pie in a good pizza place. Other menu items tasty and fresh.  A well stocked bar if you so need. A perfectly adequate continental breakfast is included in the price of a room.

Great Place in Paradise 

The Dulce Mareas was for us THE Oasis for relaxation and a quiet, pleasant retreat. The rooms are absolutely new, all very clean and well maintained. Since the rooms are in the garden of the property, they are far enough from the beach and the road to allow you to sleep very quietly. The service is simply superb - Chris and Jen take care of everything, are very, very helpful - not only when it comes to the stay and the food at your place, but also when it comes to tours, leisure activities, tips and more. We felt really treated very individually and would come back anytime. Keep up the good work, Chris! You are running a great place there:-)
