Hotel Hamacas Astillero

This is the ideal place to stay if you want to surf Lances left or ElAstillero beach break. When its on, it is possible to walk along the beach early and get an hour surfing alone before the boats arrive. Sweet! It is homely and relaxed and run by a lovely team of staff. The owner is very friendly and gave me alot of help with organizing things. It is kept very clean, and has some well maintained grounds and a nice pool surrounded by loungers and shade. I used to love reading in the hammocks and watching the colorful Nicaraguan birds. The restaurant serves a selection of tasty Nicaraguan and western dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is another restaurant 5 minutes away (next to "cold beer lady") if you want something different. Bring enough cash to ElAstillero, there are no cash points. There are some shops selling basics. Found it very difficult to leave! ended up staying over a month.
