Santa Cruz Hostel

Great hostel with breathtaking views of both Volcanos. Upon arrival staff were lovely! Friendly and extremely helpful. Could speak English which was a bonus. Common area is so inviting. Tables, chairs, hammocks and shade. Food and drinks are delicious and fairly priced. The price of the hostel was cheap at $8US per night which is appropriate. We got a 5 bed dorm for 4 of us. The room was large, as clean as you would expect for the location which has a large population of creatures. Bathroom was large. Tapware and the Shower were painful as the flow of water was scarce (not hot which was fine in such a climate). We were also provided towels which was great! The fitted sheet on the bed was terrible and by morning 3 out of the four of us had come off the bed which was painful as you do not want to lay skin to mattress. The rooms were hot but had plenty of windows and two ceiling fans which kept a constant flow of air pumping through the room at night to be able to sleep. Staff organised a tour to climb the smaller volcano with Damos who was fantastic and a pleasure to spend the day with! This hostel was as good as it needed to be while having a short stay on the island.
