Centennial Heights B & B

On arrival, we were greeted by our host Lee and later by wife Marlene.  As we were all very warm on arrival,Lee's first words were " How about a beer?"

Lee nor Marlene could have been more hospitable.  Our room was large, airy, clean and welcoming.  We all sat on the table outside the room and chatted.  Our hosts assisted with several other ventures we had planned in the area.

Anyone in the area should seriously consider Centennial B&B.

Stayed at Whitianga for just a night, which, in hindsight wasn't the best idea- we didn't quite catch a low tide time at the Hot Water Beach.
The property has 2 rooms, with a separate entrance - and my only complaint is that the walls were paper thin! We heard our neighbours late into the night.
Marlene has the sweetest little kitchen garden, and 2 little guinea pigs too! The views from the front of the property are amazing! Town centre is a 10-15 mins drive away, on Albert Street, where you'll need to go to grab dinner - everything was kinda shut at 8:15 pm, so try and go early.
The room itself was very comfy - a queen and a single for the 3 of us. There was a microwave a mini fridge too, stocked well for our breakfast of cereal, fruit, yoghurt. Thoughtfully put together.
The wifi was a bit shaky, and I could only catch a signal right next to the main entrance.
But in all, it was my first ever B&B stay, and we really loved it! Thanks Marlene!

Comfy and gorgeous!

The room was adequate but the walls thin and lacked any serious sound insulation with intrusion from the next room. Set high off of the State Highway 25 the view from the road and the main house is great; alas the guest rooms look out across the off street parking and the pretty garden.

Facilities were passable and internet access good but the TV from the stone age with very limited in the number of channels. The bed was comfortable and the linen clean and of good quality, however, the breakfast items restricted but we were given a jar of homemade jam on our departure.
We would have appreciated more contact with the owners as this too was limited and not what we have become accustomed to whilst travelling New Zealand but this could have been due to the growing family requiring more full attention. The area is good but we would probably think twice before rebooking – not our best experience.

Quite disappointing

This was a disappointment.  Firstly the advertising said lovely views from the living area - but this was the owners place. The B&B had no views at all. Then the TV was an old clunker with 3 poor channels. Finally their was no soundproofing between the units and we were kept awake listening to every word of the long conversations next door.

Not what we expected

This was basically a converted garage into a room. There is no thought or enthusiasm gone into their business. Room was bland with mismatch furniture. Breakfast was done with as little effort as possible. This is no reflection the owners, as I did not meet them.
