Was a great place to stay. Both hostel and apartments were great and couldn't be more accommodating and welcoming. Offering great suggestions for this stay and offering suggestions for next stay. Definitely worth taking a look. 

4 of us (2 couples) stayed here in August for a weekend up the mountain snowboarding. Unfortunately the snow gods weren't on our side but the Rimu Park apartment was a pleasant surprise!
The 2 bedroom apartment is really spacious and warm, a lovely fireplace in the lounge heats the whole area well. Very modern appliances and a lovely clean bathroom. Toiletries and towels were provided.
Rooms were large enough and comfortable with beside lamps, electric blankets and shelving. The beds were comfortable and room temperature perfect.
This place is out of our usual budget as we head up the mountain every weekend but was really nice for a one off treat!
Really close to the powder keg which is great as walking distance for drinks and or dinner.

Almost the last place left to book on our last minute getaway plans for the weekend. 
But what a great little place to stay will definitely be back again. Host is amazing always offering help and super friendly - which made our stay more enjoyable. Perfect spot for straight up the mountain or walk to the keg for a spa or dinner and beer! 
We stayed in one of the down stairs studio apartments heard a little bit of noise from kids jumping around upstairs other than that everything else was awesome.
Great shower pressure, clean and tidy, heaps of parking, very warm with the gas fireplace.

Looking forward to the Re-Opening of Rimu Park Lodge this coming March 2019.
We were lucky enough to be invited to view the property prior to the Grand Opening! Wow, what a difference! 
The new owner Braden Allen has really changed the overall feel and appearance of Rimu Park.  It’s high time Ohakune had accomodation that screams fresh, fun and so too professional. Rimu Park Lodge is suitable for all. Enjoy. 


“Let’s go to Ohakune durning the summer” “it will be fun” they said.  I thought why the hell would we want to do that .... turns out I was wrong! Wow this place was great.  Waking up to the mountain was breathtaking.  Mountain biking and walking through the national park so much fun.  The staff at Rimu park lodge were exceptionally helpful, friendly and they went out of their way to look after us.  Great value for money.

Excited - New Management & Revamp

Great value for money and amazing service

Unfortunately the minute we walked into the Studio Unit we were not impressed, room itself was a good setup however it was incredibly dusty and stunk of cats urine! We approached the Managers straight away and asked if an Apartment was available instead which was however was an extra $600 which we declined as did not want to pay that much more and anyways the Studio Unit should of been up to standard in the first place.Could hear everything the couple in the next studio which is adjoining spoke so was noisy at night, We also were horrified when we found there was an break in attempt on the Saturday evening on our Hilux, we found both the paint scratched and the locking mechanism on one side of the canopy broken off completely it had been tampered with so obviously not secure & safe guest parking out the front of the unit .Luckily we had an alarm which must of disturbed them. We stay in many types of accommodation regularly around the country and have never had this happen before. Lighting in the bathroom is terrible needs better lighting as had to take the mirror out to the bedroom to see to put makeup on..One good point is the Managers are friendly, but sorry we cannot recommend Rimu Park due to both the lack of cleanliness & not secure parking.
