289 reviewsThe self contained garden cottage was just perfect giving us the privacy and restful surroundings to recover from our two day journey from Wales, UK. Every window looks out onto the garden, the mountains or the bay in the distance, so you really feel at one with nature whilst the night skies are a sight to behold with the Milky Way clearly visible . The little veranda is a beautiful suntrap with garden chairs. A big plus is that there is a washing machine as well as the small kitchen, sitting area and big comfy bed. Breakfast was served in the house, two minutes walk away and was beautifully presented and prepared by Jane, the host, in the dining room with panoramic views over the bay and mountains beyond. There is an adjoining, communal lounge area with the same views but we were happy to stay snug in our little cottage.. When we ventured out we were blown away by the Summit Road drive which led us to a deserted Le Bon Beach, a wonderful memory of our first day in NZ.. Highly recommend taking a sailing trip on Fox II to see the Hector dolphins .
