't Streefkerkse Huis

This small family hotel (6 rooms) is in a beautiful thatched mansion set high up on the leeward side of the dunes, looking out over the island of Walcheren (and even a bit of sea-view). The walks from the hotel to Zoutelande or Dishoek along the top of the dunes, or along the beach are beautiful. We stayed for two nights. The rooms were large, clean, slightly old-fashioned. Bathrooms were modern. Good showers. It's and old building: There are steps between rooms, one room has steps down to a bathroom and one room has a step down within the room so be cautious! The restaurant: perfect! Cosy with plenty of windows looking on to the dune garden, a mix of classical and contemporary decor. Friendly staff. And then the food arrived, wow. Beautiful works of art, subtle yet interesting taste combinations. Superb.
