I booked a 6 person apartment for two nights so we could attend the midnight Christmas Mass in the Onze Lievevrouwekerk, and we were very happy with the apartment. They moved us to ground floor on request as my mother has trouble with stairs.
It was very spacious, clean, well-equipped, modern and a lovely location in the Hoogbrugstraat (near Crown Plaza hotel) near a cute shopping street with lots of food options. 
Service was friendly during booking and check-in, though we were slightly confused as to where to pick up the key as there are several locations, the address on the confirmation email was not their check-in desk. Turns out key pick-up is always at the same place on the van Hasseltkade.
Wifi didn't reach all the bedrooms, but that was no problem for us. Overall, we had a wonderful time - this 6 person apartment was great.

This time I stayed in a one bedroom apartment on Kleine Graacht.  It would not be suitable for those with mobility problems as the marble, spiral stairs are very steep.  But it was a lovely place and very quiet, except when the Netherlands scored their third goal against Australia in the World Cup.

It would probably be enhanced with a few toiletries and things like some tabs for the dishwasher;  this was no problem for me as I was over there to move my son from one flat to another.

People should be aware that there is a 'Coffee Shop' opposite which has a particular meaning in the Netherlands.  My son explained this to me and in the middle of the week we did get accosted by a Belgian national who wanted us to help him buy his substance of choice. (Only Maastricht residents can do so,)  So one of the most surreal experiences I have had is translating between a Walloon and an English boy to say we were not going to help him buy weed..

Do no let let this put you off the residences.  They are safe and convenient.  And I was with a 20 year old student.  Just be aware.

Perfect Family Christmas Getaway!

Interesting location

We booked two apartments for a weekend, two families travelling together, well in advance of our arrival to ensure rooms together. We were arriving late at night which we let the hotel know in advance.

On arrival, reception didn't seem to know where we were going and eventually (because they 'were busy') put us into two different locations in the city, neither at reception. So basically go to one building to check in, spend 30 minutes there being processed and given instructions to get to our two different apartments, then another 30 minutes finding one which has no car access at all and is identified by a rough position on a map they provide. We eventually, after lugging our stuff across Markt find and check in to our place then have to drive to the place our friends are staying, drop off our car their in the provided parking then walk back the mile or so to the place we're staying.

We knew none of this in advance and were handled very poorly by the staff. 

The place itself on Markt is fine. Basic but clean, convenient and quiet. It has Wi-Fi but make sure you ask for the code at reception as it's not available in the apartment and reception bunk off around 10:30.

Our friends were on Tongerstrasse - by far the better option, their place was twice the size of our with adjacent, secure parking. Yes, you have to walk into the town centre but on balance the better bet.

May use again but would want to be very clear with them up front on location etc.

Place Ok - Service Terrible

When we were given directions to our apartment (it turned we were not staying in the main hotel) we were told that there was free parking also, when we arrived not only was there not free parking you could only park for a maximum of 2 hours, we decided to unpack then look for )further parking, apartment was filthy the base of the loo was brown,  shower dirty,kitchen sink was grimy all around the tap, the majority of the plates, bowls and cutlery were dirty, with hair in the cutlery draw, coffee table full of dust with a letter on top confirming it had been cleaned.......rang to complain the response was "sorry", when I suggested they put us in another apartment they were full, so I suggested they clean the apartment as they should have the response "we don't have a enough cleaners and they are very busy, I said I wasn't happy about that again all I got was "sorry" It was like talking to a brick wall, don't be fooled by the pictures online the hotel what we saw of it was lovely this building was not, complaint gone in, not holding my breath!!!!

Student accommodation at best

The location was good, but far from the place where you check in and check out. Luckily, we had the option to reach the apartment (Tongersestraat 70) by car, but I wonder how people without a car have to manage.
The apartment was small, the floors cold and there was dust everywhere on the floors. Bathroom very basic, but fairly clean. Kitchen was well equipped with fridge, water kettle, cutlery, plates and a dish washer.
Wifi didn´t work and only after two calls did someone come to check it. Also, the hot water and heating stopped working one morning, so no hot shower, and the technical service only came to check after 2.5 hours. It was fixed, but the wifi didn´t work during our whole stay (3 nights). 
After complaining we did get a discount for the discomfort experienced. Instead of a total to EUR 411 we had to pay EUR 330.
