OYO 166 Kathmandu Tourist Home

Everytime I vist kathmandu ( around 15 time a year} I always book in here,
Clean comfortable rooms, 
Hot water is hot, 
Bed and bedding is ace
Suman and himal will go mile after Mile to help with your every need,
Nice choice of rooms for all needs, 
Really cool chilling terrace out back. 
Why go anywhere else 
And good choice of documentory channels for lazy rainy days

This is my 3th visit in nepal and Kathmandu tourist home is definitely the best hotel I’ve stayed at during all my visits. The room is extremely clean,the bed is super soft and the shower is always powerful& hot water. The management team is top class and everyone is always ready to offer their assistance anytime. This is the place to stay in Kathmandu and you’re guaranteed to have a wonderful time here

Stayed here either side of our trekking trip. Himal the receptionist was incredibly friendly and helpful, and made our stay very enjoyable. They also kindly stored our bags for us for 16 days for free while we were trekking to Everest Base camp. 

The hotel itself is basic, but has large rooms and good sized en suites with hot water. We stayed in two different rooms each time we stayed. One at the front, which can be a little noisey early in the morning when the street gets busy, and one at the back which was quieter. Wi-Fi was adequate, but if you wanted to download or upload large files/movies then you can go to the restaurant at the back where the Wi-Fi is faster.

Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

The facilities are maybe not the greatest but the staff is incredible. Super accommodating, helping in every aspect and very friendly. Only negatives are the single windows which can get a bit noisy and some bathrooms in the hotel being a bit tricky. For me it has been a great experience staying there.

Stayed on four occasions during a three week visit to Nepal, pre-booked (via Booking.com) First 2 night stay ended up with a Standard room, though a de luxe with balcony had been booked (and for which we were charged). Standard room was clean, and had good shower, but was not what we'd paid for ! Raised this with the owner on second morning, and he was very apologetic, and offered to mover us (we declined as we were only there for one other night). He promised that on our return a week later we'd get the right room. We returned, but again a Standard room as the previous occupant of the de luxe room had still not left as he had been ill. The owner refused to charge us anything for our one night stay - an unsought, but very acceptable apology !
We returned a few days later for another one night stay, and finally for two nights before flying home. In each case we finally got the room we'd booked, and very comfortable it was !

Location is very convenient, in Thamel, close to back gate of the KGH, with numerous restaurants very close by, but (surprisingly) quiet. Relatively inexpensive, and clean. I suspect that the owner is having difficulty recruiting competent staff, but he was very helpful, and the staff, though somewhat haphazard, were friendly and cheerful.

I'd happily stay there again !

We stayed here for two nights at the end of our trip and it met all of our needs. The room and bathroom was clean, the bed was comfortable. It was a little bit noisy on Nepalia New Year’s Eve, but not a problem on the second night. For the price it ticked all the boxes.

Last night I booked Room from OYO room was nice everything was ok when I checked in hotel i didn't check drinking water in my room and today morning I asked for water in reception He told me I will send you water when resturant open again i called so many time in reception but nobody response  phone after 1 hour he I call again and staff speak really rudely i will reccomend for all of Guest please first make sure everything and book the hotel

Poor managements

Booked hotel through oyo. But when we reached the hotel they donot have rooms even after we showed them booking confirmation mail. Very dissapointed with the hotel. Had to search for another hotel late night at around 12am.
