The hotel is nicely located just around the corner of the Bakthapur old town. It’s still simple but comfortable. The staff is very lovely and wonderful to their guests. Which makes this stay very enjoyable. Breakfast will catch you by surprise with a nice view a the temples and the mountains from the rooftop.

Lovely hotel right in the centre of beautiful Bhaktapur. We were there during the festival and the whole city was bubbling with dancing, laughing and happy people. Most welcoming hosts, good room, great bathroom, superb breakfast on the roof. I would go back in a heartbeat 

We stayed here for two nights and had a wonderful time. Krishna the host is very welcoming and he is always ready to give your more information and insights about Bhaktapur and Nepal. The breakfast on the roof is wonderful. The room was small but comfortable and clean (everything we needed). There was no hot water on our second day because of a lack of sunshine, but the family immediately provided a solution. The hotel is, as its name says, in the heart of Bhaktapur, very close to Durbar square.

We had a wonderful visit in Bhaktapur, which can very much be attributed to the nice stay we had with Krishna and his family in his guest house. Krishna explained us everything about the local festivities, Newali traditions and really made us feel at home. We definitely recommend visiting here. The rooftop area where we had our breakfast had a magnificent view. Our room was tidy and fit perfectly to the needs of a traveling couple.

I came back to Bhaktapur to visit friends and stayed for the second time in this guesthouse. The place is great with a good breakfast, clean rooms and very friendly people. Most of the days I had warm water. The view is amazing especially on clear days. And last but not least the WiFi worked properly.
I will come back again.

The coffee and the King’s Bean Curd included in the breakfast was really good. Krishna and all the other people were really nice. I also loved that it was easy to control the temperature of the shower! Thanks!

Owners super nice and accomodating! They will help you with everything! Breakfast is nice prepared, with fruit and the well known curd.
The profit they make directly goes to a childrens' home for handicapped children they do run.

I have stayed in this guesthouse for 2,5 month while I was working as a voluntary in my praksisperiode from my university. The guesthouse is family-runed and they provide such a good service which you absolutely can compare with a high star hotel, maybe better. The rooms are clean and the internet was working very good most of the time. (I had a room in the upper floor) Krishna, the host is bringing you everywhere if needed for eksempel to get the visitor pass in the turistinformation, to get to the right place for the tourist buss to Pokhara, he was really helping me when my flight back home was cancelled and I didn't get any help from the airport and the airline. They providing sometimes guests to join som cultural events and are very kind and helpful with everything.You have an amazing view from the rooftop on the city and the Himalaya while enjoying your breakfast. The income of the guesthouse is going to a childrenhome for children with disabilities. I have visited the children home in some days and I'm very impressed what kind of good work they do for the children. Guests can visit there and also buy som small gifts the children are making to support them. All in all I can really recommend this place. Clean rooms and internet you get in many places but that service and the warm feeling to be welcome is unique.

My friends and I had a few days before trekking and wanted to spend them outside of Kathmandu. So grateful we chose HOB! Great rooftop views, working wifi, and the most welcoming hosts. They run to hotel to support their nearby children's home, and it's well worth supporting their efforts. Thanks Krishna! We'll be back :)

Really accommodating staff and nice clean rooms with a rooftop to view the town. 

If you have any problems walking, be aware it's a tall building with many stairs so check what level your room is placed on.

Amazing host family with best service I experienced

A quiet, family-run place in a beautiful area

We stayed two nights over New year at the end of a two week trip to Nepal. We chose the hotel due to the fact that it was set up by the owner couple, Krishna and Roshni, to fund the Swarga children's home for disabled children (also in Bhaktapur) that Krishna set up after his work as a social worker led him to do so, as a result of there being very little provision for children with physical or mental disabilities in Nepal.

The room was extremely spacious and clean, and though there is no heating we were given extra blankets and they filled our hot water bottles for us. Krishna and Roshni are extremely accommodating and kind hosts- as it is a family run business, the close and lock the gates at 10pm unless you notify them of later plans. Unfortunately we got somewhat delayed leaving Bandipur and arrived in Bhaktapur at almost 10pm and struggled to find the hotel (though bustling in the day, by this hour everyone was inside their homes and the place was a ghost town). Roshni and Krishna waited up for us after 10pm, and even made us tea and toast as we had not eaten dinner, which they refused any payment for.

The breakfast is decent, and is served on their rooftop with excellent views over the city. The only consideration is there is no heating, and only solar powered hot water which is available at certain times only during the winter. We worked around it,  but come prepared for that!

The most amazing part of our stay was it happened to be the anniversary of the children's home on the day we were there, and we were invited to attend their celebration. It was amazing to see the hardwork and dedication of all those who work at the home, doing so much with so little, and clearly doing a great job from the smiles on the kids' faces. It is worth coming to stay here to know that you are in a small way contributing to that, if nothing else. 


Amazing Hosts and amazing cause

I just wanted to stay here for a night and ended up falling in love with Bhaktapur and the nice family from "Heart of Bhaktapur Guesthouse". So, I stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms are nice and with (solarheated) warm water.  Tasty breakfast is served on the rooftop of the house and the family is always up for a chat, they prepared me a special cure against my cold and even invited me to be part of their celebration of Dashain (Hindu festival).
(Just saying: the access to the Guesthouse is trough a narrow street and a backyard with a small temple...just continue walking, don't worry, it's the right way :) )
I felt more than welcome at this place and would recommend it as a perfect stay in Bhaktapur. 

Nice rooms, good location and a wonderful guest-family

This is an excellent guest house .. very close to the centre of magical Bhaktapur but pretty quiet. Krishna and family are very friendly and super helpful and speak good English. The ensuite room I had was extremely clean and comfortable. The best thing is that part of the guest charge goes to support the home for disabled children that Krishna runs.

A very comfortable and convenient guest house

This hotel is in an ideal location in Bhaktapur.  Heart of Bhaktapur is a play on words as this is a hotel that has a heart and is in the centre of the historic area. The profits of the hotel support disabled children with physiotherapy and caring and kindness. Some of the children are orphans and some come from families who look on disability as a black mark against the family and are ashamed of their children. The owners work hard to support the centre and run the hotel. Everyone is friendly here. The location is excellent. The staff came to meet my taxi to lead me down the small alleyway to the hotel. The rooftop breakfast and sunrise views overlook the temple of Taumadhi Square. Bhaktapur has been hit very hard by the recent earthquake but the hotel has hot water (solar panels so during certain times there is more hot water than other times), comfortable beds, is clean and wifi was good. This is a good value budget hotel in a perfect location. There was no air conditioning.
