Montebello Guesthouse

Had an overnight stay at Monte Bello guesthouse at start and end of trip to Namibia. Loni et al were brilliant with foodie recommendations and transport. (Use Dean from Eros Transfers - a lovely guy.) Had a lovely meal at Kubata portuguese restaurant which Loni organised - thanks Lloni.

We spent our first night here, so lovely. Lovely room, delicious breakfast.
The owner and her daughter were so helpful organising a restaurant and taxi for us.
Very comfortable and so pleasant, loved the dogs!
Would definitely stay here again.

I loved staying at this Guesthouse. The security guard who let me in and showed me to my room (I arrived late) was very friendly and helpful  I had an excellent night's sleep in a comfortable bed. The room was modern and tastefully furnished. The breakfast buffet was substantial and delicious. I will definitely return.


Stayed here for 1 night. Safe, clean, secluded with a great breakfast, a small pool to cool off. Not too far from downtown Windhoek. A supermarket is close by to fill up for a cross country tour. The 5th generation Germans are very helpful to answer all questions a newcomer might have.

A great Thank You to Loni and her very friendly team. The rooms are super clean and offer everything you need. Breakfast selection is grand and delicious. Staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive as the owner and manager Loni is clearly leading by example. We were offered to keep our rooms (free of charge) until late afternoon, before we had to travel to the airport the same evening. 
I wouldn't book any other accommodation but Monte Bello when staying in Windhoek and we already look forward to staying with you again.

We had a most pleasant stay, nice comfortable if small rooms, great breakfast and a cool pool. Only complaint was the lack of TV. Owners recommended a great restaurant and made the reservation for us.

Great place to arrive after a long flight

Best guesthouse in Windhoek

Good overnight spot

This is a very comfortable B & B and ideal for a one night stay after a long journey. The Guesthouse is about 10 minutes by car from the city centre in the middle of a residential area. The walls have barbed wire around them & a security gate to enter the car parking area. There is a central building where the hosts live and on either side of this are the bedrooms. At the back of the house is a patio area where we had breakfast and a small swimming pool. Our room was comfortable with a queen bed, a fridge, a TV which may or may not have worked as we didn’t use it and reasonable Wi-fi. The room was large enough for one night. There was a separate en suite bathroom with a shower, one wash hand basin. There were plenty of towels but no hair dryer though you could ask for one at reception. Breakfast consisted of an extensive cold buffet with meats, cheeses cereals etc and  hot dish to order. The hosts were, we felt, fairly impersonal and not that interested in talking to us. However that really didn’t matter to us as we were only there one night !!!!

A very comfortable B & B for our 1st night in Namibia

We stayed here for one night at the beginning of our Namibian holiday. We were warmly greeted on our arrival and shown to rooms on the ground floor facing the swimming pool. They were quite small but comfortable enough with aircon and the usual en suite facilities and wifi. The TV's had been removed but this was of no concern. We had pre-booked dinner at a restaurant in town but the taxi ordered by the guesthouse was late arriving (he forgot!) and had to be chased twice for a pick up later...not great. Breakfast was very good with eggs cooked to order. As others have said it helps if you are a dog lover as there are a couple wandering around. The guesthouse does not take credit card for small amounts of money. Perfectly adequate for an overnight stay.

OK for a night...

Room air cons did not work, televisions not on as owner finds it too expensive to subscribe, the worst cleaning of a room that I have ever seen on a daily basis , felt as if the room was the same from the night before


Worst ever

We have encountered many inconvenience at Montebello guesthouse.
First of all the behavior of the owners with the staff was not kind and tyrannic and most of all the behavior with the clients was totally inappropriate and rude. We stayed 30min after the check out at the terrace and were harassed in a very rude way to leave while we were the only guests in the guesthouse and sympathy and hospitaly are supposed to be key in those places. I have never encountered such rudeness in Namibia. Even going to the toilet before leaving was too much to ask. 
Moreover, we can admit that the breakfast was very good, we had to take it with their 2 dogs jumping on us all the time. We don't have problems with animals but they were definitely overwhelming and the owners didn't react at all.
Last but not least, the service and the rooms were not great. They took the remote of the TV away, the toilet paper was a joke, we broke accidentally 2 glasses and had to refund them, only one towel per person... The owners were smoking the whole day leaving a tabaco smell everywhere, even in the rooms.
Shortly a real deception.
