Auob Country Lodge

We had a fantastic stay at Auob country lodge. The staff was extremely kind and welcoming. Well decorated lodge. We stayed in the campsite so i cant say must about the rooms but the place and experience was great. I would only recommand that the staff give us more details about what activities does the lodge propose as we only find out when we were leaving that they had game reserve drive.

We were the only campers in the site, so had so much space and privacy available. The ablution facilities were spacious and clean, and we were received by a very friendly member of staff. One tip though - take LOTS of bug spray.

The campsite is located in front of the lodge on the otherside of the off road which can be noisy while cars (even though it is not often) are passing by. But still nice location since there is a waterhole where animal come to drink especially in the evening and mornings they even come to the campsite through a gate! 

Friendly staff that was helpful, but the room is poorly lit , no hand soap The staff at the bar and the restaurant was exhalent but food is very expensive, and we had no choice but what they served us  

When we entered into the Lodge we were excited about the old-styled environment. Nice african colonial style. The room itself was ok, unfortunately the power of the shower was very low and the whole room full with moskitos. Yet there were nets and anti-insect spray. The pool is nice but only with very few chairs. The whloe Lodge is clean and well prepared. Food ok, first court served afterwards with Buffet.

We stayed on the Campground, with a nice view on a lot of animals (spring bock, eland antilope...) We had a shady place, clean bathroom and hot showers. The nights in the rooftent were very cold )around 0°) We did the 9 km long walk on the farm area, beautiful landscape gnus and zebras;-)

Nice venue for camping!Lush grass lawn to camp on - ablution facilities is clean although a little old.Camping site next to road but no issue as it is far enough and fairly quiet.Lodge pool is available to campers which is excellent!

We stayed for two night at the campsite and really enjoyed it. 

Take the 13km hiking trail in the early morning and you'll can spot a lot of wildlife. Finding/spotting/tracking a giraffe by yourself is worth much more than finding one on a game drive. We also did the afternoon gamedrive, which was also enjoyable, but we were with just 6 people and the guide.
Afterwords we had diner in the restaurant and it was one of the best steaks I ever had!

The toilets and showers at the campsite are clean and well maintained.
Staff is very friendly and attentive.

Very pleasant stay after a day of long driving. Not particularly luxurious, but clean, efficient and homely. Friendly, welcoming staff, nice clean white linen and towels and a good country style dinner and breakfast. Can't make a mistake to stay there.

Great place to visit the Kalahari

RELAXED COUNTRY STYLE STAY

We stayed on the camp site at Auob. This had all of the facilities we needed including hot shower, power sockets, washing up kitchen and fresh water. The braii stand was raised which meant it was good for cooking but not so good for keeping warm around a camp fire on the chilly nights. 

Located next to the game, we saw antelope and birds as we ate our food. There wasn’t much in the way of desert to see however. 

On the downside. They don’t have a camp shop of any sort so make sure you bring all you need. They also said we could use the lodge facilities on the website including pool, bar and WiFi. However, upon arrival we were told we needed to pay for all of these making even getting a beer at the bar very expensive. The set menu also appeared to be extortionate compared to over locations we visited. Overall, the staff we not accommodating or particularly pleasant. 

I would recommend choosing Gondwana locations over this.
