Vingerklip Lodge

A stunning location, in an area reminiscent of Monument Valley in the US. The lodges, main building, pool and Eagle's Nest cliff-top restaurant were all excellent. We walked to the nearby pinnacle, and on our final day we walked the other way round the site to a lovely viewpoint. Our room 5A was peaceful, the shower and wifi were good. This place is definitely worth a diversion to stay.

This Lodge and location is stunning!  So many areas to sit, relax and enjoy the views.  Lovely pools and lounging areas, with shade.  Great walks around the farm- to the Vingerklip and within the bush.  Waterholes provide good sightings of baboon, springbok, giraffe and other mammals.  Lovely room with great terrace.  Food was fabulous, both at the Lodge and at the Eagle's Nest restaurant atop the adjacent rock formation.  If you can go up there for sundown and dinner- it's a treat. As a Namibian traveller and outdoor lover.... this lodge is the place to stay! If you are looking to clap your hands so that the lights come on.. then dont stay here! My experience was truly awesome... hike to the Vingerklip, drive to the Vingerklip, cycle to the Vingerklip,take a jog to the Vingerklip? Take the hike up to the mountaintop bar and restaurant... the view is absolutely amazing... the sunsets are truly the best! Photographers paradise! I found the staff very friendly, the management are great people... there are two pools to cool down in.... overall.... it was absolutely great! Well done Vingerklip Lodge! I will be back!! Ask them about the game drive to the neighbouring game farm... it was just as awesome! Dont only go for one night!! You will miss out on so much....

One of the most beautiful lodge I stayed in my trips to Namibia. I would have stayed two nights instead of one!
Our chalet was very nice and had a balcony with a lovely view. The chalets are scattered on a small hill that is covered by beautiful succulent plants.
Food is good, we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. Dinner was a lekker buffet with a choice of game meat and vegetables.
Staff is very kind.
Location is very good, landscape is fantastic, the view is stunning on every side and you can walk to the Vingerklip in 30 minutes.
I enjoyed a lot the sunset from the “Eagle’s Nest” terrace bar.
To improve: there isn’t a fridge in the room, it could be useful even in winter, since it was quite hot when I was there in August, I think it is fundamental in summer.

Fabulous place. Run on solar power. Great room and balcony/outside space. Staff are all very helpful. Special shout out to Steph for helping us book activities before we arrived. Dinner at the Eagles Nest is a must. Views are worth the climb!

This is a wonderful property and hotel. We stayed on top of the plateau in an incredible cottage called “Heaven’s Gate”. It is a bit of a trek to get to and from but worth every bit of the effort. Has a lovely wood fire heated spa, total seclusion, and incredible outlook. There is also a smaller restaurant on top of the plateau which we ate at each night. The hotel at ground level is also terrific.

Loved the view of the waterhole from the really comfortable room.

This was by far my favourite place we stayed in Namibia. The rooms, location and food were all spectacular and the value for money was great, I found the quality to be better than other places we stayed that were double the price. I would recommend people don't make the same mistake we made and stay more than 1 night! I would also recommend requesting to book dinner on top of the cliff on one occasion.

Stephanie and her family is just a remarkable host out of this wonderful place by one of the greatest landscape I’ve seen.
The facilities are complete, foods are great, room is comfortable (despite a bit old). Price is definitely competitive.
Eagle’s nest is one of the best ever dinner place without doubt.

Just one feedback that the floor managers are not so costumer oriented. The lady in charge for restaurant on 26 dec was saying we could not go for 2nd time in Eagle’s nest because it was fully booked, that we need to pay 100 extra (as if it would be issue for us), and that we have done it on first night.
It would be okay to understand if explained properly but the way she responded to the request was definitely not pleasant.
I had to insist that the choice where to have dinner is on my side, especially as we asked already. So briefings to them will be recommended to ensure experience is 100% amazing

Must visit

This area is amazing - the scenery is stunning. A bit of a wind down from our recent boat trip and dune drive. We had a nice walk up to "the finger." We also made a reservation from the UK for the Eagles Nest restaurant. This was a truly magical experience. We also undertook one of the lodges expeditions to see some local roack paintings. The staff were lovely.

First visited 25 years ago, and it is still one of my favourite places to stay. It has grown, but the chalets are spread out nicely, ours with a view of a waterhole, with air conditioning and mosquito nets. There are lots of communal areas, including a place to watch the sunset and also Vingerklip itself. 2 pools and 2 restaurants, one called Eagles Nest and on top of a cliff with amazing views and food (cooked by the lovely Eve). Friendly staff and a lovely location. The food was also amazing. With current exchange rates, the prices are also a bargain

Absolutely stunning and amazing surroundings. The staff is very friendly, helpful ànd professional." Don' t stand up to get your coffee from the buffet, you will be served with a smile straight away where you are sitting 😊.  We were staying only one night 😔.. I could have stayed a month or even more. Unfortunately it didn't rain while we were there. Absolutely necessary for the people living in dry conditions and their livestock and wild animals. . We thought we could bring them the rain.. and the owner promised us one of his bottles of wine 😇. Shame it didn't, so definitely we have to go back.
