Chit Sayar Hotel

We stumbled upon this place because we just took the taxi from the airport and told the driver to drop us somewhere in China town. 
The street where this hotel is located is full of street vendors, jewellery shops and further down the corner is a small shopping mall and a market. 
A few blocks down is the Sule Pagoda.
The hotel has a money changer and the staff are helpful.

good enough on a budget

The Chit Sayer Hotel is a budget hotel but expensive for what it is, but as Myanmar gets more popular only expected prices will rise. Very good location in the centre of China Town and only minutes away from 19th Street where you can find numerous street food stalls. Close to 26th Street for the local market - overall a very good location to explore Yangon.The room was small but clean, Wi-Fi was very good and worked 100% of the time during our stay. On arrival it appeared the hotel were not expecting us but after 10 minutes we were in our room, staff were OK and helpful. No window in the room but looks like most of the rooms didn't have one either. Breakfast was basic but ok. Overall an OK hotel but as we were out  all day it was good enough for a good nights sleep.

Good Location

No windows, and lights so poor that I could not read did not impress. But it was clean, with friendly staff and good location, Breakfast was just about OK; one dinner eaten in was quite good though. I think I might look elsewhere should I come back to Yangon. But can I say Yangon itself is a great place to visit for a couple of days.,..fascinating, busy and the friendliest people I have ever met. Taxis are good and cheap which is a great bonus

OK but over priced

For Yangon, the price was decent and included breakfast in the restaurant downstairs. Over-priced in the grand scheme of things though. The food at the restaurant was great and not too badly priced (great if you are exhausted after a day of exploring and can't be bothered going out to eat). The location is good, right in the middle of downtown.

They let us check in early (about 9.30am) as we had an early flight from Bangkok. They also stored our bags for us when we checked out on our last morning as we weren't leaving for Bagan until later that night. 

The shower was nice and hot, but the bathroom smelled a bit funky because our room was completely internal with no windows. The entire hotel smelled a bit like cigarette smoke and we even caught someone smoking in the elevator.

Good enough

Hardly a budget price but amenities were in that bracket. Internal room. Shower worked ok and it seemed clean. Restaurant food was ok. Convenient location for Chinese area and general downtown locations.
