Though this seems to be a rather new place, I'm glad we found it. Golden Fish Motel is located outside the city across a bridge, giving it a pleasant and quiet atmosphere. Yet it is not too far from everything we needed, and most parts of the city were just a short walk away. The owner of the motel is a quiet lady who is helpful with tourist information and directions. She also rents bicycles for 2000 kyats a day. The rooms were clean and met our expectations. When we discovered a slight flooding problem in one of our rooms, they were willing to upgrade us immediately. We also requested for a place to stay after our checkout time, and they happily obliged with a new room, allowing us to use fresh towels for a shower before our overnight bus. Breakfast was tasty and sumptuous, more than we needed to start off the day.
