Hotel White Lotus

We stayed here for one night after getting off from the train from Hsipaw. The owner and his staff we're very nice and helpful with arranging our onward travel. The rooms in the back are remarkably quiet. Would stay again! 

Costs are $23 without breakfast and $25 with breakfast (eggs bread fruit, 3 in 1 coffee). 

Very clean, decent air con, hot water and wifi in the rooms.

The costs are competitive for Mandalay - the staff are friendly enough - I would stay here again. 

Check in to this hotel recommend from a fellow bus traveller. For U$23 for a double with AC, ensuite bath, LCD tv and minibar. The owner Char aS very friendly and helpful. Good location. Central to the main drag.

Nice hotel with very nice owner

Cost update June 2016

Myanmar

We ended up in two different rooms when we checked in.  The first one didn't have a window, but the staff did move us to an outside room after we requested.  The room and bathroom were small but clean.  No lift, so request a lower floor if you have issues walking up many stairs.  Despite being on the fourth floor, we could hear everything outside and were woken up several times during the night when dogs barked or cars honked.  Breakfast is served just outside of your room.  There was only one table, so I'm not sure what they do when multiple rooms want to eat at the same time.  Food was the worst of our trip - eggs were fried to a crisp and dripping in oil.  We usually ate a piece or two of the toast and then went elsewhere for a larger meal.  One day, we left valuables at the front desk to be placed in the safe, which we were told would be taken care of.  When we returned that night and asked for the valuables, they weren't in the safe.  The staff member helping us went to wake up the other staff member who had taken our items.  He said, "Oh, sorry," and pulled them out from behind the desk.  Not very comforting.  Overall, our stay was adequate, but I wouldn't stay again due to small, noisy rooms and absent-minded and careless staff.

Reached early and waited at lobby to get room cox not 12 PM yet and room are not available. But comfortably rested at lobby. Easy to get most of the places. Near train station.
