We choose this place due to its location and were very positiv surprised by the friendliness of it's owners, the cleanliness and the excellent location in the heart of Maputo. Absolutely good price and perfect value.

Both Martin at the desk and the housekeeping staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good, location is excellent. Great place for a mellow and relaxing stay in Maputo, if you're looking for alternatives to the posh 5-star hotels.

It is just SUCH a cool vibe! Your host in an amazing human being, the communal space is gorgeous and incredibly unique. I was passing through and found myself having drinks with the owner and wanting to stay a couple days more just to enjoy the place! if you are passing through looking for an affordable place to stay this will ABSOLUTELY be the best place you can find.

We stayed there for 5 nights and this was the turning point in out trip to Maputo one we met Miguel the owner ld this amazing guest house. The place is nice and cozy its also located in a very prime and safe are where you can walk maximum 10 min to reach any restaurant or supermarket or even pharmacy. The breakfast is suburb and you must try it at least once. The rooms were nice and always clean. The terrace out was as well always clean and tidy. Bathroom was always clean with a nice smell. The staff were always helpful and smiling. Specially Miguel the owner who really shows a high level of hospitality and welcoming. I would also add that the hostel is just on top of Peri Peri restaurant one of the oldest and must try restaurants in Maputo. Unforgettable stay and I will always recommend staying there for anyone planning to go to Maputo

We stayed in Maputo twice in two weeks. Unfortunately I didn’t found this place earlier because I booked somewhere else for our first stay. So happy we booked her for our second stay though. What a great place! Hospitality is amazing. Best we came across in Mozambique. When we arrived we got fresh coconut water. The host gave us a tour and even changed the two separate beds into one big bed. My boyfriend needed a computer to backup our photo’s to his usb and he even arranged a laptop for us. So helpful and friendly! 

The house is really nice and immediately feels like your own home. I wished we could stay for one more night. 

I would advice everyone to book at Malagueta inn!!

Short stay loved beautiful nice local artwork in spacious room and sitting areas in and outdoor.  Miguel the host/owner was so nice and gracious, very helpful as well as the staff.  He took us to art gallery with live local music it was a fun night out Good location!  Restaurants close by.

The host is very welcoming & helpful. The rooms are spacious & comfortable with a common area. It’s well situated in close proximity to the major restaurants. There is also a mall right across the road for money exchange, grocery shopping etc.

Unfortunately the beds are not that comfortable & it’s a bit expensive for a backpackers.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, like the photos.  Not remotely close. It’s a dark and creepy place. I had a booking here and there was no one around. A guy on the street carried my bag up the stairs. I asked if he worked for the hotel and he just kinda nodded. He took me to a solid metal door and banged on it several times. No answer. I asked if he was sure this was the hotel. He said yes, but I don’t think he actually worked there because he couldn’t get in.

Things were beginning to feel like a scam. It was a completely dark hallway in a very dark building. After waiting a while, I finally took my bag and got out of there. I’ve been to over 120 countries and all over Africa and South America and this is one of the weirdest experiences I’ve had to date.

Big no for me.
