Riad Assakina

Just back from a fabulous 4 days in Marrakech, made all the better by staying at the Riad Assakina. Run by a British couple, Michele and Grant, along with their lovely, friendly staff, this Riad was such a find! The riad itself and our room was beautiful, comfortable and quiet, just what was needed after a busy day in Marrakech. The breakfast every morning was delicious, I really enjoyed the fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juice each morning and the pancakes with local cream cheese and honey were amazing as were some of the other breakfast options, all freshly prepared. We stayed at the riad one evening and had tapas, which again were delicious and served on one of the terraces, candlelit, with an amazing city view. What makes this stay extra special tho is the staff, who all go the extra mile to ensure you have an amazing time. Michele is a wonderful host, always around and about, happy to chat and help with anything you need. Her local knowledge and recommendations were invaluable. As well as organising a taxi from the airport to the riad on arrival, she advised us what was worth pre-booking before we got to Marrakech and made suggestions, recommendations and booked some trips and visits too for us. It was like having our own personal travel consultant! If we return to Marrakech, I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else and will definitey be recommending the riad Assakina to everyone I know.
