Riad Marraplace

We stayed for three nights at Riad Marraplace, perfectly tucked just off the main Jemaa El-Fnaa square. Truthfully, when we first saw how close it was, we were a little unsure—expecting the noise and chaos of the square to spill into our stay. But we couldn’t have been more wrong! The riad, managed by Karim and his wonderful team, is a true hidden gem that feels like a home away from home. We stayed in the Alhambra Room, a beautifully designed space that blends traditional Moroccan décor with all the modern comforts you’d expect. The room was immaculately clean and provided fantastic value for our stay. Before our arrival, Karim had kindly arranged an airport transfer, and one of the team even met us in the square to guide us through the maze of streets to the riad—a small gesture that made a big difference after a long day of travel. Stepping inside, the calm and quiet instantly set the tone. The contrast between the lively streets outside and the serene interior couldn’t be greater. We were welcomed with fresh mint tea on the rooftop terrace, and after leaving the cold weather of the UK behind, basking in the warm Moroccan sun with those views over the Old Medina and Koutoubia Mosque felt like pure bliss. Each morning, breakfast was served on the same rooftop terrace—a generous spread of Moroccan and continental dishes, perfect for fuelling a day of exploration. For its unbeatable location, welcoming atmosphere, and authentic Moroccan charm, Riad Marraplace was the perfect base for our Marrakech adventure. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking to be close to the action while still enjoying a peaceful retreat.
