Riad Alamine

Just back from a lovely three days in Marrakech staying at Riad Al Amine. We stayed in the Suite which was a really good size, immaculately presented and very clean. The staff informed us when we arrived that "we are all family here" and this was very much the case. We never even locked our room door, the front door key was on the hook when we wanted to pop out and the hotel cat (who is definately in charge) would regularly take ownership of our room whilst out for the day. So be warned, this place is very laid back. Personally we loved that approach but don't be expecting western coded doors and lockable safes, this is a traditional Riad. Breakfast is cooked fresh for each room on the roof terrace and consists of coffee and orange juice, fresh flat breads, pancakes, cakes, yoghurts and honey. All very tasty. Walking time to the square is around 8 minutes but use Google maps when you first arrive or you'll just get lost in the Souks. I'd been to Marrakech before so thought I knew my way around the old city...yeah Riad Al Amine put me in my place on that matter! At least we provided entertainment to the locals as we walked round and round in circles! Overall, probably the best value for money hotel I have stayed in. Great location, friendly staff and very safe!
