Riad étoile ocre

This is the first place we stayed in Morocco and we immediately felt happy and welcome after being a bit lost trying to look for it at night. It's located just off a busy pedestrian street and felt safe to travel into and out of. In hindsight it would have been helpful if we got someone to pick us up on first night, but it was easy enough to find anyway. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We got mint tea on arrival in the beautiful courtyard. We had breakfast there twice. It consisted partly of similar fare to what we got in other places in Morocco, (bread, jams, honey, tea or coffee) but had some excellent extras: a sweet, oily peanut butter which I miss already; a flan (vanilla one day, chocolate (?) The next); and more than one type of bread. They have an upstairs terrace which made for an excellent breakfast location. That terrace also has some sun beds and a small spa (which we didn't use) for an extra charge. The rooms were small but comfortable. There was a safe in our room but not our friends' room. Only criticism being the toilet/bath area has only a curtain (no door), which I didn't mind, but if you're very self conscious about bathroom noises I can see how this would be an issue. I've included a photo of the bathroom because it was such a lovely orange! The riad only had 3 rooms I think, and we were the only guests for one of the nights so the service is personal; there is always someone helpful around to let you in, or to ask questions of, or to rearrange breakfast and travel plans.
