Dar Sienna

Dar Sienna is my personal favourite in Fes. The location is superb, situated right in the heart of the medina next to Moulay Idris Zawiya - an important holy place and historic shrine of one of the founding fathers of Fes. The free breakfast in the morning is always delicious and filled with good Moroccan breads, olives, soups and fruits. The rooms are very comfortable! The place is designed in a traditional Moroccan fashion but with a modern touch, it is simply artistic and not to overly ornate. I always feel right at home when I stay here. The owner is a lovely woman, always caring for the guests needs and recommending good places to visit and where and avoid. She has a good sense of humour and has always made me feel part of the family here in Fes. Although it is a central location, Dar Sienna retains great tranquillity in its space, as most of the external noise from the streets is inaudible, so a good night rest is always a guarantee! The Wifi is very fast, enough for anyone wanting to work online while staying in Fes. The shower is powerful and has both hot and cold water functions. The kitchen is there for guests to use as they please. Finally, there is a terrace with a wonderful view of the old medina. It is perfect for watching sunrise and sunset.
