Rafting Camp Green Tara

As the title says this place is off the beaten track (although there are ones even further away from the tarmac roads!) 7 km down a mostly single track road which starts off tarmac but gradually downgrades to gravel track, Camp Green is in the heart of the forested valley (we got there ok in our Seat Cordoba hire car so don't panic!). Surrounded by nature and overlooking the river canyon towards a small farmstead that stands on the Bosnian Herzegovina side of the border the scenery is stunning and the air is clear. The accomadation is in log type cabins which sleep four or five people and have a shower room each. The camp also has a bar/dining area without walls so you sit and eat your meals surrounded by scenery. For the cooler season there is also a traditional octagonal, conical roofed, building - this originally was also opensided with a central fire pit but is now closed in and has a huge fireplace on one side. The meals are huge and consist of a mixture of traditional local food with some westernised elements. The portion sizes are legendary! Lunch is definitely not required unless you have a very active day/diet! The staff are excellent and speak varying levels of English -all are friendly and welcoming (a Montenegren trait I think!). There was a managerie of cats, dogs, goats, even tame hedgehogs that wander about the place totally at home. Just lovely. The drive up from the coast is 3-4 hours and is chock full of stunning scenery - if you can count the tunnels the same both ways you're doing well - we counted anything between 47 and 53. (It's about an hour shorter on the way back as its mostly downhill (not joking!)
