We visited Playa del Carmen for the first time last week, and our two nights spent at Hotel Carlota were ideal. The staff was very attentive to our needs with children in tow. They were friendly and accommodating when we requested a room change. And the room we stayed in (master suite) was surprisingly large with a nice layout. There's a nice eclectic vibe at the hotel. Loved the complimentary bath products and light breakfast. Glad we were able to walk a short distance (less than 10 min) to Quinta Avenida. The best part: less than $100 a night.
