For a family of 5 people, it is difficult to find a single room, since most hotels have a maximum capacity of 4 people.This hotel has a room for 5 people, with air conditioning, wifi, breakfast included.The truth is better than we expected.It is very well located, close to the cathedral and the ice cream bars of Colón, which are a must-visit when visiting Mérida.It is a very simple hotel, has no great luxuries and does not accept credit cards.

Well, pretty and cheap.

The newly renovated hall is nice and cozy but the rooms are really ugly and noisy, poorly furnished, microscopic laundry in the room, dirty and dirty bathroom with spiders and rust everywhere. We happened during the renovation, I think of the spa, and they took out the water all the time. Breakfast is not bad, but the staff is not at all professional and collaborative: I forgot an electronic item that is not very valuable but contains personal information and despite so many phone calls and the offer to pay for the shipping costs of the item from me, they didn't want to do it and they didn't answer the messages. To avoid absolutely.

It's not about professionalism.

It's an old hotel that on the page is painted like a boutique hotel but it's not too close, it's in a good location and the attention is good.

I was hoping for better.

We had to read reviews before we booked this place but we didn't. Next time we'll be smarter. 
This hotel has a great location, walking distance from the center. This is the only good thing. 
1.We booked 3 nights about 3 months in advance. Upon arrival at 10 pm, the clerk told us that he can give us only two nights because they got group arriving and for the third night we have to find another place to sleep. Well, we called the manager and told him that we have 3 nights, we will stay 3 nights and we will not move nowhere. Actually,  we didn't and nobody bothered us, but it cost us 10 minutos rough talk.
2. If you expecting to have a spa or pool or mayan massage, you will not get it because they don't provide it anymore. At least, they didn't provide it in October. 
3. The our room ( #3 ) was unnormally small and old. Falling paint from the celling, rusted beams, the light fixture in the shower's celling hanging on one drywall screw.....Really, just terrible. Actually, we didn't spend lot of time sitting in the room, but it was bad experience. 


The worst place I ever stay.

The reception staff has good english and very good tips, they are always helpful, e.g. during parking. parking area is secure, and requires a walk to behind the corner from the hotel. They have nice common area. Location is also good-short walk to the city centre. Beakfast is good, filling, but the same every day. toast with butter and jam, fresh fruitss (papaya, watermelon, banana), coffee or tea, eggs with ham or alla mexicana with not spicy peppers. should be accompanied by toast, but sometimes you just wait for ages, so you eat the eggs without it, it is a served breakfast. That brings me to a bit negative impression - breakfast staff is extremely slow and with no english, do not expect to get your breakfast at 8, when the breakfasts officially start, that is still time of preparations. The navigation to the hotel is a little wrong -it is a bit further on that street. (if I remember well, the building number was wrong on booking.com) no sign though... wifi only works in the common areas and it is very slow. They have no lift and very narrow staircase which could be problem with heavy luggage. Last but not least, they could provide a city map, but they don't, so bring your own. However, I would recommend this place to stay in Merida :)

6-rooms hotel near the centre

The hotel is simple, located in the center of the city, could improve some details.It serves very well to go on a carefree plan and express as in my case, the staff very kind and fun.

Well, for its cost.

I'm in the middle of Merida, very friendly, very clean, obviously not a five-star resort, sometimes there's a mold stain on the ceiling, but it's very nice.

he water was sometimes turned off and rooms could use towel racks. But these are minor quibbles for such a friendly, well kept and located hotel.
I loved staying at Casa Temazcal. In fact, I wound up staying 2 extra nights. I could have stayed elsewhere but the staff, especially the front desk guys, Enrique, Xavier and Carlos, made my stay extra special. They are so personable, so knowledgeable and helpful, and just all around great guys

Great place to stay!

The hotel is simple but very nice and traditional. The best part was the service, everyone is super friendly and very helpful! And breakfast included with flavored water, egg, fruit and bread! They also have tours that are the best and cheapest we've seen in all of Mérida. It's worth a lot. The only place is that we had the bad luck that they were fixing the water and we ran out of water almost a whole day and couldn't enjoy the themezcal or pool in our stay.

Beautiful hotel and great service.

When we arrived we discovered that there is no pool or spa as advertised. They tried to say the credit card machine is broken and they can only take cash. We told them we are going to stay somewhere else and we left. Then they charged our credit card a no show fee of $400 pesos! Disgraceful!
