Chapel 5 Suites

We couldn’t have imagined a better stay. We spend 8 days using Chapel 5 as our base to see all of Malta, Comino and Gozo - and we felt like we were just a short bus or taxi ride away from every corner of the country. When we checked in, Verena was amazing. She showed us around her gorgeous hotel with three pools, hot tub, sauna, salt room, cold water plunge, kitchen, dining room, roof terrace - everything you could ever need whether you’re traveling alone, as a couple, a family or with friends. She provided us with contact details for massages, water sports and was always a text message away if we had any questions - but our stay also felt so private, sometimes like we had the entire hotel to ourself. Our own little home in Malta. The team at the hotel were so chatty and friendly over breakfast, telling us all about the island and what to do. They made us scrambled or fried egg with an iced coffee every morning! There is also a choice of breads, cheeses, meats, cereal. They also bring out a little surprise board to try every morning, sometimes fruit or sometimes a pastry. It’s always delicious and they will be happy to help with anything. I normally rent a car when I go away, as my girlfriend and I love to explore, but with parking a real challenge no matter where you stay in Malta we chose not to this time. It did not hold us back at all. Bolt and Uber are so much cheaper than the UK and if you make use of their promo codes at the airport and on the sides of the cars, you can travel across the island for as little as €3. If you are wanting to lay by the pool, the pools are in courtyards with tall walls - which we thought would make sunbathing impossible with the shade - but we had two pool days where between 11:45 and 14:00 the sun was right above us and perfect for tanning and cooling off. However, if you want longer than that to tan, you can tan on the roof terrace or head to one of Malta’s many beach clubs - which Marie-Thérèse advices us on brilliantly. If you can, book the Namaste suite. We arrived late on the first ninth and ordered a takeaway that we ate in our own private living room while watching the F1. We then opened our door every morning with the pool right there, and ate our breakfast watching as the sun warmed what felt like our own little private pool. We have so many places to tick off on our travels around the world but can’t wait to use Chapel 5 again next time we come to Malta.
