Thoddoo Island Life Guest House

This is a very clean, cozy small hotel with 9 rooms. a small area is stylized as a tropical garden. The very responsive and polite owner Ishan and the very hardworking service man Majudhi tried to quickly resolve all our requests and wishes. We lived in a new building. All appliances and furniture are new, a flat-screen smart TV, quiet inverter air conditioner, comfortable beds, excellent sheets and 6 (!) pillows of different thicknesses and densities guaranteed a great sleep. This is a hotel with one of the shortest ways to the main islands beach. There are several popular restaurants within walking distance and a general store next to the soccer field. A big recommendation is to visit the Fishka restaurant, where they serve very tasty dishes with 1.5-2 times larger portions at standard prices for the island. The only regret is that the breakfasts are monotonous with a limited selection. However, a similar situation may be in almost any budget hotel on the local islands of the Maldives. The local one always included unleavened pancakes without yeast and a shallow blend of tuna, coconut, onion and green grass, which were varied with a piece of delicious cupcake, potato salad or baked goods with the same deep-fried tuna. The continental included toasts, one egg, 3 sausages (not tasty), jam and butter. Tea/coffee was freely available. Various juices were also served (highly likely powdered). The only big plus was the fruit. A plate of papaya, watermelon or pineapple was served. My wife and I preferred the local breakfast, which was nutritious and not bad in taste, but after 12 days we got pretty tired of it. 5 year old daughter refused such breakfasts. The hotel booked the reservation of seats on a high-speed boat from/to Male airport, and an electric bus met with harbor and drove us from hotel.
