Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa

Returning for a second time to the luxury and tranquility of Emeralds Faarufushi Resort & Spa, we found it to be just as magical as we remembered. Once again, the Emeralds team upheld their high standard of excellence and from the moment we arrived at the airport, we were met with warmth and made to feel like VIPs. We were delighted to see some familiar faces during our stay on this little Island of paradise. The house reef was impressive with an abundance of fish and regenerated colourful coral. Direct access to the reef from the pier head is a real bonus, which, since our last visit, has had additional safety measures installed for those less confident snorkelers. The staff (champions) made our stay so special. All front of house champions knew our names, always greeting us with warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm to ensure our experience was the best. Exec team members checked in with us most days, keen to learn what we had done that day and seeking our views on how to enhance the Emerald experience. The range of scrumptious meals in each restaurant suited our palate perfectly. For lunch, we ate most days at the beach grill - delicious food served alongside an impressive range of wines expertly chosen by the ever present sommeliers (all restaurants). For dinner, we explored the other restaurants, all offering absolutely incredible food. Just like our first visit to Faarufushi, Head chef Moreno kindly created an off menu dish. Naturally, it was exceptional - a gesture that speaks volumes about our experience. Also, in recognition of this being our second visit to the island, we were treated to a meal on the beach. Love heart shape in the sand, twinkling lights and flowers on the table - this truly touched us and filled our hearts with warmth and gratitude.   We were blown away by the space of our beach bungalow. The design both indoors & outdoors was tasteful & spacious. The coverings on the sun beds, daybeds (in pool area too) were well maintained. Particularly impressed with the enclosed area of the bathroom area - a glass wall/door separated the outer area of the garden. No mosquitos - no bites!  While the entire resort team was exceptional, we would like to extend special recognition to the following individuals for their exemplary service and for making our experience truly memorable: Aslan looked after us with great care, thoughtfully addressing our enquiries and checking in with us daily. Joseph, Ram, Supreeti and Sean for sharing their expertise in the world of wines - a real eye-opener! Priyanker graciously looked after us at the Aqua and Mediterraneo restaurants. Her attention to detail and playful banter made us feel completely at ease. Wayan for taking excellent care of our room. And finally Rao for taking the time to talk to us, listening to our feedback and making us feel valued and important. The pride he held for the staff continues to be evident and we feel his style and approach provides an excellent role model for aspiring ‘champions’.
