Grand Park Kodhipparu Maldives

The Maldives was the second destination of our Honeymoon and wow, needless to say- it was amazing! Grand Park Kodhipparu was the best choice we could have made for a relaxing and romantic getaway as newly weds. As we were here for only a couple of days, we decided a resort closer to the airport would be better. The moment we got off the 20ish minutes boat ride to the resort, our personal lifestyle host; Alisa was sweet and informative even at 6 AM. She was attentive and tried her best to meet a lot of our requests with efficiency and kindness. She always greeted us when we crossed paths and asked about our day or if we ever needed something. Thank you Alisa! The resort provided many complimentary gifts in our package too. Of course, the over water villa left us speechless overlooking the beautiful Indian ocean. We went snorkeling every morning and the reefs were magnificent! We saw so many reef sharks and even a turtle! The room itself is spacious and clean for a couple, but the deck and front door could use some renovations as they creaked all night every night whenever there was a rainstorm. We mostly slept through it because we were tired, but it did wake us up from time to time. We also booked a photography session to commemorate and props to Bella and staff for making the experience the best that it could be despite the windy and rainy weather. Thank you Bella! My masseuse; Ayu was also kind and did a wonderful job on my massage. The staffs on our fishing excursion were funny and even caught a huge shark to show us. All the staffs that we met were friendly, helpful and greeted us warmly. As we came during the wet season, the weather was unpredictable and there were cloudy and rainy moments, but don’t let that prevent you from visiting. There will be beautiful sunny weather as well and that makes the trip worth it. The only negative experience we had was when we requested a buggy. For the majority of the time- they took a long time to get to us if they ever did, so we often resolved to walking instead and sometimes even in the rain. It is a small island, but walking back and forth, round and round, all day every day with the amount of activities we did was tiring. It would be better if there were more buggys available in these instances. All in all, we had a lovely honeymoon and the Maldives is as beautiful as they say with crystal clear blue waters and white sandy beaches. It is expensive, but definitely worth a trip if you want a relaxing and picturesque backdrop on your honeymoon. We would love to come back someday, but for now this will be an everlasting memory for us. Thank you!! 4.5/5 stars!!
