Kamadhoo Inn Guest House

We were made to feel so welcome by Silvia, Naseef and everyone else who worked at the hotel, we want to come back for the whale shark and manta ray season. We are so happy we chose Kamadhoo Inn, we felt looked after from when we were greeted at the airport to the second we got on the plane on the way back 😊. Our stay felt really personal, we felt that everyone at the hotel was helpful and caring and the hotel had a homely feel as soon as we arrived. Whilst we were there we did lots of excursions: Turtle reef - Amazing! Sea so clear lots of turtles and incredible corals. Sandbank trip - beautiful scenery, dolphins spotted en route, and more lovely snorkelling. Sunset dolphin tour - saw so many amazing dolphins and the scenery was sublime. Deserted island lunch - Such an amazing and cool experience! Taken to an uninhabited island and we were able to snorkel around the WHOLE island, corals and aquatic wildlife again beautiful! Food on the beach was delicious! Guided tour round Kamadhoo - would highly recommend and super interesting to find out about local flora and fauna. Local reef tour round - really useful to get familiar with the local reef. We snorkelled every day and probably twice a day. The local reef was beautiful, Silvia & Naseef were able to give info about where the corals were best and from the reef we saw so many varieties of fish, turtles, reef sharks, rays (of different varieties), moray eels and puffer fish. Snorkelling equipment was available to borrow from the hotel, including flippers. PSA: If you have a bald head and burn easily bring a buff or head covering for snorkelling! Hotel was beautifully designed feeling in keeping with the local village. Special nights were hosted including a Maldivian evening where we were treated to local food and music. The food was another highlight of our stay, some stand outs for us were an amazing butter chicken, Sri Lankan Kottu roti, and pretty much everything Maldivian including roast fish, curries and salads. There was always a good variety of food and the buffet gave options if you weren’t in the mood for fish or curry also. Local fruit including bananas and mangos were delicious. No booze, but alcohol free beer and delicious fruit juices were refreshing and delicious. We stayed half board breakfast and dinner but had the option to come and get lunch as extra. The room was clean and comfortable with new towels for both shower and the beach every other day. The bed was mega comfy and big and the air con in the room made for a good night sleep. We were able to get WiFi in our room which was good enough for us to stream tv and films on our iPad and the airport greeter took us to get a local SIM card before our next connection; this was really useful and we were able to get mobile phone coverage with the local SIM card across the whole island and on excursions.
