A great stay & super location. Spacious clean comfortable rooms with an outdoor seating area. Also a 5 minute walk from a shop and floating restaurants. 
The hosts were really helpful at booking the activities and transfers!

Me and my family stayed at Tebing GuestHouse in Taman Negara, and it was an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend for anyone visiting Taman Negara. The combination of excellent accommodation, outstanding service, and prime location makes it the perfect base for exploring this incredible national park. We will definitely be returning!

We had a wonderful stay at Tebing Guest House. We experienced the beauty of Taman Negara - but also we experienced the warm people and hospitality of the little town outside Taman Negara called Kuala Tahan. Of course, the special hospitality of Rani, the host and staff at the guest house deserves a special mention.  Rani has a keen eye and makes sure the guest house is run efficiently. He and his team can help recommend the best travel options for getting in/out of Taman Negara. In our case, they arranged for our travel to and from Jerantut.

We stayed at Tebing Guest House for 4 nights. Here are a few notes travelers might find useful.

Location: Kuala Tahan sits right at the entrance of the park, across the river. Tebing guest house is located right on the river bank with a breakfast area overlooking the river and the forest. The location is absolutely lovely. A short walk along the river - 300 meters - leads to the ferry crossing boats. Ferry crossings are quick and only 1 RM per person.

Breakfast: Their breakfast is full service and fantastic. It comes with egg/omelette, toast, jams, cakes and baked items and rotating local hot dishes such as Nasi Goreng,  Char Kway Teow, Roti Canai, etc.
Breakfast Tip - Be sure to get the Banana Pancake. I've never had a better pancake!!!!
Breakfast Tip - The lookout from the breakfast area along the riverside is a great place to spot birds in the morning. Be sure to take your binoculars.

Activities - There is no need to "search around" for the "best deals" for activities. The activities offered through Tebing are super reasonable and they get the best local people for the job. We went for a safari experience that was extraordinary!

Liked · The room was as advertised - clean, comfortable, good sized bathroom and bed. Surroundings are made with care, nice lawn, plant decor around the building. The owner / manager is very knowledgeable and helpful, can arrange anything and give good advice. Great price / value ratio. Breakfast (not included in the room rate) is also good value for money.


We booked directly with owner ,Free parking , took the package tour of rm370 per person (includes 2 night accommodation, 2 breakfast , 1 packed lunch , 2 dinner , activities of canopy walk , guide fees , orang asli village visit , rapid shooting boat ride ,4x4 night safari ) which exclude the lata berkoh boat ride rm250 per boat for 4 person . Overall a clean guesthouse with friendly owner and his family , room got air conditioning, water heater , kettle , tea and coffee , nearby to taman negara , all activities start from here , walk to the river behind the guesthouse to take boat ride to taman negara . Highly recommend to stay here .

We have just left this gem of a place and we were so glad we found it. The guest house is a 10 minute walk to the river and 5 minutes to the village.Our room was spotless and the air conditioning worked perfectly. We had breakfast there twice and it was well worth it ( try the banana pancakes they are delicious). The people at the guest house are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for. .

We loved Tebbing Guesthouse!! Such a great small family-owned guesthouse  The owner was very friendly and helpful. He arranged a private tour in Taman Negara for us. The rooms were clean and comfortable with great A/C and hot water showers. Walking distance to the river and floating restaurants. Everything was perfect!


The hostel is very comfortable, rooms, beds.. and clean. They help us with everything, they can arrange transports, activities, what ever you want. We recommend Tebing if you come to Taman Negara. Thank you so much to Fadhil “Padel” for helping us with the thousand things we ask him!

We booked a night boat safari with Tebing and it was amazing! 
The owner was really nice and told us everything about Taman Negara and the area whilst waiting for the tour to begin. 
We'd forgotten our dry bag and were immediately offered one to borrow.
The safari itself was really nice and relaxing and our guide went the extra mile (literally) as it was too busy in the beginning to see any animals. 
When we arrived back at Tebing guesthouse they offered to drive us back to our lodge as it was raining.

All in all a great experience we would definitely recommend! (And next time I'll probably stay in Tebing Guesthouse just to enjoy the hospitality even more)

The room was clean and pretty spacious. Bathroom is on the smaller side with the shower over the toilet, but that's fairly usual in guesthouses around SEA we've encountered so no problem at all for us. All rooms look at to a nice little courtyard area and they provide some chairs for your use so you can sit outside. Also provided a clothes drying rack which was super handy in the humid, hot weather. The great thing is that you can book all the tours you want to do through the guesthouse too and the staff is super friendly and helpful sorting this and other things out for us. Breakfast wasn't included but for and extra RM15 pp you can still join breakfast, which was a combination of buffet style and some a la carte dishes (like banana pancake and scrambled eggs). 
If we had to pick 1 thing that could be a downside for some it would be the location. It's on the edge of town so a short walk to the floating restaurants plus entry to the national park on the river and town centre where most restaurants and shops are. But since the town is really small it's only a max 10 min walk to the furthest point so no problem for us really. The upside of the location is that it is nice and quiet and super relaxing, we even saw some hornbills visit the neighbour's banana trees.

Stayed at bungalow which has 2 rooms + 2 toilets + kitchen area + living room + dining hall. It was very clean and functional and perfect for family with 2 kids. Location is 5 minutes walking distance to riverside. Owner and son were the most helpful and hospitable owners that provided excellent advise and arranged all trips for us (we did boat trip to Lata Berkoh + shooting rapids which are both HIGHLY recommended).

Taman Negara is a MUST go just for going up the river on the long boats. It's too surreal to explain and one box to tick off in life experience checklist.

Tebing Guest House is located right next to river and you just have to walk down a flight of steps to begin your journey into a dreamlike world with virgin jungle on both sides of river with overhanging trees over the river on certain sections. 

We got invited to a engagement lunch party during check out time by the owner and really appreciated the opportunity to have some local food by the river with other guests. 

HIGHLY recommend Tebing Guest House. Book early as available rooms get snapped up FAST...

Tebing Guest House Rocks

Just stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate my 60th birthday on a road trip with friends. Booked directly with Rani the owner of the Tebing, who got back to me straightaway each time I texted him.  He also arranged with my husband, a birthday cake to be delivered to the property which I didn't know about so that was a lovely surprise. The room was great. Spotlessly  clean and had everything that we needed for our stay.You could see they took great pride in their place. Beautiful area at the side of the river especially for the new dining area to be opened next month. Very quiet and peaceful and lovely to sit outside our room in the private grounds. Rani and his son Arif (sorry if name is wrong) are very friendly and helpful and it was lovely to meet them. If we go back to Kuala Tahan, we will definitely stay there again and would recommend anyone to go.Fantastic value for money.
