Although a bit far from the town center, the hotel is a nice peaceful haven surrounded by the forest in the back and a big beautiful lawn/park ending with the view of the bay.

We had a deluxe room on the ground floor with the terrace and exit into that lawn. It was an excellent setup for our family with 2 kids, because we could go right outside straight from the room. It also gave a nice home feeling: kids playing in the lawn while you have your morning brew in the terrace. The street and neighbours are like 100m away so you can relax and let the kids play in the lawn following them with your view only. 

The room was neat, clean and spacious, with some basic kitchenette. It was getting somewhat hot on the late noon-evening,  the staff even provided us with the fans, but since we were outside most of the day, we didn’t really mind that.

The restaurant was really really good. It didn’t look like much at the begining, but everything we ate were of outstanding quality. We tried all breakfast dishes (eggs Bennedict, English breakfast, cottage pancaces, and scrambled egg) and they were all very good. We tried 2/3 of the lunch/dinner menu and everything was excellent too. That’s really hard to find in any restaurant, especially in Lithuanian hotels.

And of course we enjoyed lively evenings in the same terrace restaurant drinking cocktails with friends and enjoying last hot days of the summer.

Although simple and quiet, the hotel gave us a home-like all-inclusive feeling where you can relax all day long with a few trips to the town and the beach. A peaceful place to wake up at and a great place to finish a good day of vacation.

Perfect summer weekend

We stayed in Skalva both in summer and winter, and it was flawless. The rooms were extra clean and cozy, one with a sunny view of the lagoon and the other facing a quiet pine forest, perfect for hot summer months. The friendly staff was always there to help, thank you! We also dined at the restaurant near the lobby and were surprised by the high food quality. They always have fresh seasonal dishes to offer and a variety of drinks, no need to go elsewhere! We will surely come back again, it's our hidden gem in this wonderful city.

Hidden gem for all seasons

Stayed one night on a summer weekend and it was nice and quiet compared with the chaos of central Nida. From other reviews, i think the rooms have been updated recently, they seemed newly painted and the bed was one of the most comfortable of our three week trip so far. The receptionist spoke some English but was friendly in explaining the keys. We had a family / quad room that was actually two adjoining rooms, including two bathrooms, one room had a proper bed, the other a sofa bed of good size compared with other sofa beds we've experienced. We also had a kettle and cups but no tea or coffee, i did get a teabag from the bar downstairs but it was a little odd. Overall a comfortable stay out of the main part of town.

Comfortable family room

There were no blinds in our room and the disturbing restaurant music was almost ever-present, coming both through the corridors and heard from the outside. 
There's also a road nearby and the traffic is occasionally very loud at night.
The room looked lovely, mostly renovated, the bed was comfortable, but the bathroom looked outdated. 
The staff was friendly and we enjoyed the restaurant food very much.

Rooms without blinds are not suitable for summer nights

The hotel was actually quite nice.  The rooms were a little small for two beds, but they were clean and bright and it was very nice to have a balcony. It was also quite convenient to have a fridge.  We enjoyed staying a little further from the centre of town and it was a pleasant walk into Nida along the waterfront. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the hotel and loved having such a big deck under a tree at the front of the hotel where we could sit in the  a evening and look out over the  lagoon.  The hotel staff a bit disorganised and not the most friendly and our breakfast was late both mornings.  It was also inconvenient to have only one key for a double room.  But overall, it was a decent place to stay in Nida.

Nice location, a little disorganised

Booked for a short 3 night stay just a few days ago.  €150 a night for a double room. The state of the bathroom/toilet was shocking. Some cleaning would help...needs a little work done as well. 
The room is ok. It looks like our room was freshened up but they forgot the bathroom. 
Parking isn’t free...€5 per night and breakfast...€5 per person. 
Staff are friendly.
