We stayed there 4 nights. A bit more pricey than dorms but so worth it to get some peace and quiet after a big day tubing or biking around. Extra clean, hot water, comfy beds and good location. Very good wi-fi as well, for those who care about that. 

With Chinese New Year, many places were completely booked. I was really bummed that Other Side/Banana Bungalows were full and asking price was K200,000.  For our first night, we stayed at a very central spot across from Cafe Oh La La and paid K100,000. It was too noisy with people going in/out of their room and the bathroom dripped all night. 

We explored the next morning and found Villa Aekham with her scarf shop. Rooms are lovely & big. And only 5 min walk into central part of town. We stayed 3 nights and paid K225,000 per night.  Only negative was we couldn't negotiate a better rate.

We stayed here in 2010 or so, and again Nov 2015 for 2 nights. In 5-6 years the price had only gone up from 120000 to 150000 kip. The 8 rooms are a good size, clean with fridge and AC, and the back 2 have a river view. You don't get many riverviews near town for this price. 
Only critisism - we asked for an extra pillow or blanket for our infant's cot and they said they didn't have any. I found it hard to believe that they only had the exact amount of bedding they needed for 8 double beds and no more. They could have been more helpful here.

Still, for the price, a good value option.

Good value, clean

The place for sunset addicts

Stayed 3 nights. Room is big and clean. Both AC and fan. Shower with hot water. 
We paid 150000 kip for a doubleroom. Maybee you can get it cheaper if you ask, we came into Vang Vien late and just needed to sleep somewhere. 
The place is situated along one of the msinstreets but away from the most crowdy/ noisy street. 
The plumbing in bathroom seems to have som problem but thats quite common in Asia.

Bought air ticket balloons here and were verbally abused and sworn at when we went back to query a possible double charge to our credit card. Not a pleasant experience at all! 
We were trying to explain that there were to charges appearing on our bank statement but the man and woman started getting aggressive and started shouting saying 'you guys are not good people!'
