Hoxieng Guesthouse 2

We stayed 3 night's here . Rooms have a fridge flat tv good bed and are clean. Its build in 2009 and also recommended as flashpacker GH at TravelFish . There is also nr 1 hotel (same owner) 20 meters down the alley, wich is bit cheaper and there they have breakfast included. Strangly here no breakfast. Would come back here next time.

Couldn't Be Better
We stayed five nights at this guesthouse.  Mr. Tik is the main man here and keeps everything in order.  He is friendly, knowledgeable and the go-to guy for all Luang Prabang advice.  Eleven years old, the building has been well-maintained with beautiful wide plank teak floors throughout.  The lobby is functional and has a much-appreciated source for refilling water bottles.  Room #91 was perfect for our stay.  It was clean, quiet, very good large bed, mozzie net, fridge, kettle, space for luggage, ac and fan, large bathroom with counter space, tub and shower, hot water.  The private balcony overlooking the street was good-sized with table and chairs.  For us, the location was perfect being directly across the road from Saffron Coffee and one-half block to the excellent Joma Cafe in one direction and the Mekong in the other.  There is also an open-air resto next to Saffron which features a breakfast buffet and sometimes has live acoustic music which was finished by 10:30.   The night market and other shops were very close.  All-in-all it was a very comfortable, pleasant stay.  We paid about $41 per night.

The guesthouse is a comfortable place. The room and the amenities make for a pleasant stay. Hot and cold water at the right pressure is available. The office attendant, Tik, was helpful with the needed info.

One other advantage of the property is that it's very accessible to the historical center of town where the points of interest, including Mt Phousi, restos, cafes, ATM machines and foreign exchange outlets are located. A tourist info office is also just a couple of corners away. And from the guesthouse, the Mekong River is just a few meters away.

The vicinity felt very neighborly with a cafe and bistro just in front of it. To be sure, there are other guesthouses on the same street but you can't complain about Hoxieng 2. By the way, Hoxieng 1 is a few steps down the street.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, somewhat outdated but nevertheless confortable with a good bed and aircondition. Nicely situated in smalle street close to center and might market. Minimarkt net to guesthouse.

We stayed in a first floor room which was nicely decorated. There was an emphasis on dark timber in the floors and furniture.  Our room had air con, a fan, a kettle and coffee supplies. The bathroom included a bath as well as attractive finishes. Both rooms were fairly tight in size. Our twin bed room had a bed partly over the door to the bathroom, resulting in regular bruises. The internet was a disaster. At times it worked adequately but at other  times it was so slow it would not even open an email. Check out nearby hotels they offer better value.
