Words cannot express enough how thankful I am for this experience. What an incredible place with warm-hearted and generous people! I got to volunteer in the camp only for a few days, but I have to say that it was a life-changing experience! Rumshines' owner, Khaled, welcomed me at the Rum Village, and took me to the campsite where I got to see one of the most mesmerizing landscapes I have ever seen in my life. Even though the stay was quite short, I have learnt so much about Bedouin culture, and I'm very grateful for their incredible hospitality. The delicious meals prepared in traditional ways will be one of the many things I will never forget for the rest of my life, along with the beautiful sky at night, the camels, those gorgeous mountains, and so many inspiring conversations I had with Khaled and his brothers. There is one thing that I remember from one of those conversations, "It is so important for us to take care of the land." This has been stuck in my head ever since! If you ever travel to Wadi Rum, please don't hesitate to stay at Rumshines! You won't regret it for a second, I promise!
