Really enjoyed our stay here. Accommodation very comfortable & host extremely friendly & helpful. Loved the eclectic decor, collected from all over world. Very original. Enjoyed a refreshing dip in the pool & good breakfast. Certainly had hot water for the showers in the eve & early morning. Great atmosphere. Bathrooms somewhat outdated, but clean & had everything we needed.


Off-putting though it may be from the outside, it is however charming, warm and inviting on the inside. The French-Israeli background of the owner (Stephane) and the manager (Sharon) shines through to create a unique ambience and charming B&B at reasonable prices.  A converted warehouse in what used to be an industrial zone, I've never stayed at a place quite like this one, and couldn't wipe the smile from my face the whole time I was there.  A large public space inside the facility enables them to offer many different things, from an indoor swimming pool to a music corner, from a plasma tv to a game room with billiards and foosball, from a coffee corner, from a treadmill to two separate covered gardens, all richly appointed with sofas, chairs, pillows, and assorted colorful bric-brac. Mitzpe Ramon is the place to stay of course for a desert adventure in Maktesh Ramon, and Guide Horizon met and exceeded my expectations.  I'll be going back.

I booked a Tomcar tour (basically a hardened dune buggy with a higher ground clearance) and had a great time with Stephane and Amnon in the desert.  We set out for a 2.5 hour tour that included three stops, one to view the crater, one to view a rock quarry and the last one to view a different part of the crater that also included tea and cookies.  Along the way, we did a lot of fun driving in the desert in the Tomcar as it can really take a beating and Stephane has a passion for leading at a nice pace.  I was driving my own Tomcar so it was a pleasure to do some off roading without worrying about breaking anything.  When we made the stops, Amnon talked about the area and we took some amazing pictures.  There are only a couple of tours in the area but I would definitely recommend taking this one.  Here's a link to their website, http://www.guidehorizon.com/indexen.htm.  You have to have a valid driver's licence and they have three Tomcars available  plus a jeep if the group is larger.  I did not stay at the hotel but Stephane did give me a tour and the place looked pretty nice.
