Thank you those have contributed your review here, that's make me chosen the right place to stay. 

Just to highlight few things
1.. Just next to the ryokan has one temple, quite nicely built.
2. Advisable to drive here, as the Shinhotaka Ropeway just about 6km away from here.
3. Must try the dinner with sashimi, breakfast as well. 

Thank you Mr and Mrs Takizawa for the great hospitality service, what a wonderful stay. Hope to see you all again! 

Spacious rooms.  Nice baths onsite.

What sets this apart is the great staff.  They helped us figure out what to do, get from A to B, etc.  Thanks for the ride to the ropeway!

Reasonably priced.

A bit off the beaten path if you don't have a car.  We did it via bus.  Just check the bus schedules.

Didn't get to try the dinner, but breakfast was great.  Don't skip it.

We booked 2 nights, ended up staying for 3 (beginning of March).
Great hospitality from Mr. Takizawa - he treats his guests with respect and makes them feel special. 
Our room was a good size, comfortable, with an ensuite toilet, and we could see Yake-dake (an active volcano) from the window - what’s not to love! 
The ryokan standard meals were superb - local, fresh ingredients, beautiful, delicious and special in many ways. The beautiful pottery the food was served on were a feast for the eyes too.
The old house is very well maintained and clean, with a tasteful mix of traditional and retro style in the decor.
The 2 indoor and 2 outdoor onsens are wonderful - all are 'family baths', i.e. private. The indoor bath changing area have heated tatami floors, a treat in winter (the room also had heated tatami in the seating area - the heating apparently uses geothermal water). 
The location is perfect for exploring the surrounding area (we came by car) - beautiful mountain views, rivers, hiking trails (though some weren’t accessible due to snow), one or two ski resorts, day onsens, and for visiting the Shin-hotaka ropeway. For those using public transport, there are buses (I believe Mr. Takizawa can offer lifts to nearby bus stops and attractions, so its worth enquiring).
If you're looking for something special in the mountains, you'll find it here. We certainly hope to go back again.

An amazing experience! The staff did everything to help us. We forgot a bag on the bus to the ryokan and they called the bus company and went with us to get the bag back.  The food is great, the rooms too and the onsen is amazing. The best of all, the staff and the service. Thank you very much!

We stayed in Minshuku Takizawa for only one night, but what a nice and authentic experience it was! You can feel that the owner and staff really care personally about the satisfaction of customers who get a very homey welcome. Dinner and breakfast were gourmet, prepared and served with love. The owner of the place even managed to organize the transportation for us to nearby hotel (location of the place is a bit remote, but it is fully compensated by the personal service and care!) The onsens were also great, excellent for the privacy of couples! Would return there any day! Thank you!

The experience in this ryokan was amazing. The staff was extremely helpful and made our stay memorable. When I remember the dinner served - it was perfect! The table looked beautiful with all the precise details. We have ordered beef for dinner and as a fan of this meet (tasted a variety of it) I can say it was the best I had so far! They served a lot of dishes and all were very delicious, made with love and we felt that!
