Hotel Bougain Villea Sapporo

This is a very reasonable hotel located at the tail end of the Tanuki Koji shopping arcade. This covered shopping area is known for shopping during the day, and at night is filled with street dancers, musicians, and other performers. This hotel is right at the very end of the arcade, so you can step right out under the cover-- great if the weather is bad. It's the 'old' end of the arcade, so it looks a little run down but there are many unique niche bars and hole-in-the-walls this way. The rooms are clean and perfectly average. The staff is friendly and breakfast is included-- just bread, soup, and juice/milk/tea, but the bread variety is nice and it's a good start. I was surprised when I found there were no toothbrushes etc. in the room, but they are free-- they are just on the first floor. I'd totally missed them while checking in! All in all a good stay for a night in the city.
