Itoya Ryokan (Sadogashima)

I stayed here for over a week, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. This ryokan is professionally run, has all the amenities you need: (vending machine with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, two coin operated washing machines and 2 dryers, washing detergent pod dispenser) - they even lend you some hangers if needed. The breakfasts were healthy, delicious, and the staff take note of food preferences and try to make dishes that you enjoy! (Also they do it quietly without you even noticing). I highly recommend this place if you are planning activities in the area - do book early however as they get full very quickly during the busy periods. A few tips for international traveller. 1. They have a toilet in your room, but to bathe or shower, you must use the in-house public bath (separated by men/women) from 1500 - 0900. So do note people will come in and out - the onsen is wonderful. 2. If you are staying in the modern Japanese Twin room - two of the rooms face the road and may get a little noisy at night, so do try to request a quieter room if you need. 3. Most of the staff do not speak English, but you can get by with Google Translate.
