Sado Green Hotel Kiraku

It is located about 5 minutes drive from the Ryotsu Port, 20-30mins walk with luggage on narrow roads. The Hotel has a shuttle service. The hotel is accessed by taking a slight left off the main road and up a hill. Be prepared the building is very run down on the outside. The staff don’t speak any English but no one else does on the island as there is no need. The staff are great and try very hard to make your stay enjoyable, loaning us the motorised bicycles each day - fantastic fun! helping us with directions to the coin laundry 20mins on bike, places to eat etc. Their onsen is a highlight, especially the private onsens that you can book, with no extra cost and overlook the lake. Both the private and communal onsens are outside and overlook the lake, fabulous end to the day! Our room overlooked the lake and the car park/onsens across the road. Was clean and quiet. Futons on the tatami floor are good quality - although we used two each for more comfort and the doona cover and yukattas are also good quality and changed each day with the small towels and he room clean. The rooms would be so much better with fly screens so the windows could stay open longer. The accommodation is only worth 3 but we will give it a 4 because of the efforts of the staff.
